Get Prepared for Wedding Season

Hi there, stamping friend!  We’re almost through February, which means that wedding season will be soon upon us!  Now is the time to start getting your cards ready, so that you’re not caught short-handed.

Sorry I’ve been missing in action for a few days; I have been busy, though!  Today I wanted to share with you one of the other cards we made for my Love & Stuff class earlier this month.  These cards are perfect for weddings, anniversaries, and even for bridal showers – just change the sentiment!  You  can see some of the other cards we made by CLICKING HERE.

Falling in Love Suite

This unique card features the beautiful Falling in Love Suite of products, including the So Detailed Thinlits Dies.

Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper featured with So Detailed Thinlits

Details:

Card Base: Blushing Bride cardstock measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded in half.  After cutting and scoring your cardstock, use the Big Shot with the Falling Petals embossing folder.  Emboss the front panel of the card base.

Overlay: Use the Big Shot with the So Detailed Thinlits Dies and die cut 2 of the largest floral edgelit from Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.  Use the Precision Plate with the Big Shot for ease of release of all the intricate die cut pieces.  Fold along the straight edges, and add a Tear & Tape to the length of the solid edge.  Next, remove the tape backing, and fold the taped edge over each of the sides of the card, as shown in the picture above.  Use either the Multipurpose Liquid Glue or the Fine Tip Glue Pen and add dots of glue to the back of the intricate die cut areas.  Press the die cut over the front embossed panel of the card; hold in place for a few seconds to allow the glue to adhere.  This is how your card will stay closed; the card opening is at the top.  The combination of Blushing Bride cardstock and Glimmer Paper is just perfect for a wedding!

Decorate: Add one of the Falling in Love Embellishments to the point where the 2 pieces meet.  Attach using Glue Dots.

Pocket card using So Detailed Thinlits Dies

Here is a picture of the sentiment panel:

Sentiment Panel of Wedding PocketCard

Sentiment Panel Details:

Base: Cut a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock to measure 4″ x 5 1/8″.

Sentiment Panel: Cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to 3 3/4″ x 5″.  To decorate the panel, use the Delicate Details stamp set (available for FREE during Sale-A-Bration), and stamp the lace image across the top of bottom of the panel.  Use the Sahara Sand ink pad.  Next, stamp the sentiment from the Falling for You stamp set in the middle, using Blushing Bride ink.  Use the Multipurpose Glue to attach this stamped panel to the Blushing Bride cardstock panel base.

Decorate: Punch a slit in the top middle of the insert.  Add a length of Very Vanilla 1/4″ Satin Ribbon through the slit, then tie it off with a length of 1/8″ Ribbon in Gold.  (to punch the slit, I used the retired Corner Punch Trio punch).

Finish:

You’re now finished your beautiful pocket card, and you’re ready for the next wedding or anniversary!  One of the perks of this card is that it fits inside a standard envelope, so you can slip either a cheque or gift card inside, and it won’t get lost in the festivities.

Here’s another close up picture, so you can see the detail of the Falling Petals Embossing Folder, and how beautifully the So Detailed Thinlits Dies cut through the Glimmer Paper.Wedding Pocket card - close up details
