More Birthday Card Sharing

I’m baaaaack! 🙂  As promised, I’m back to share the other 2 cards that we made over the weekend, in my Birthday Bash birthday card class.

If you missed yesterday’s post, with the first 2 cards, you can see that by clicking HERE.

Here’s the 3rd card, made using the Lift Me Up Bundle:

Because I was prepping for 10 people, I decided that we would just do the balloon outline, and not add the panels behind it – either way, I think it looks great!

I started with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Soft Sky cardstock, and used the Up & Away Thinlits and Big Shot to die cut 2 cloud shapes.  That panel was then attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Whisper White cardstock card base.

The balloon was die cut from Night of Navy cardstock, and glued to the card front using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I find it the easiest to use; you just need to squeeze very lightly, and apply dots or fine lines on the heaviest part of the die cut.  That holds your balloon in place just fine – no floating away! 🙂

To create the sentiment, I die cut 2 banners using the Bunch of Banners Framelits, then used the Crazy About You stamp set for the individual ‘happy’ and ‘birthday’, which I stamped in Night of Navy ink.  Next, I used a Sponge Dauber and edged the banners with some Soft Sky ink, then attached them to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I die cut 2 more clouds from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, and added them, and some Rhinestones to the balloon and sentiment, to finish it off.

Of course, I couldn’t just throw away the 2 balloons that I die cut from the Soft Sky panel – so I used them on the inside of the card!

The sentiment is from a retired stamp set, called Another Great Year.

The final card shows off the new Pop-Up Thinlit Dies:

But first, you see the front, which has the sentiment from the Balloon Adventures stamp set, inked in Emerald Envy stamped onto Whisper White cardstock.  It was attached to a panel of paper from the Party Animal Designer Series Paper, then some Solid Baker’s Twine in Emerald Envy was wrapped around twice, with a fun party hat from the Party Animal Embellishments added.  This was then attached to the Emerald Envy cardstock card base.

For the inside, I used the Big Shot with the main die from the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies to die cut from Whisper White cardstock:

After die cutting, before you fold and attach to your card base, you want to stamp the balloons and sentiment.  If you score/fold/attach first, you won’t get full ink coverage – your fold lines will show!  We used Pacific Point, Emerald Envy and Daffodil Delight inks for the balloons, and Emerald Envy for the banner  outline and sentiment.  After attaching the pop up piece, we then added strips of the striped pattern from the Party Animal DSP.

This is such a fun card, and a ‘wow’ for whoever gets to open it up!  And a bonus for you – it looks like it took ages to make, but having the Balloon Adventures Bundle makes it easy!

Remember, it’s still Sale-A-Bration time, and by purchasing either of these Bundles, you instantly qualify for 1 FREE SALE-A-BRATION ITEM!  I’m guessing that like me, you like free goodies!  Especially ones you’ll use! 🙂

To purchase any of the supplies I used to make these cards, just click on the images below, and you’ll go directly to my online store.  Of course, you can always contact me directly, and I’d be  happy to place your order for you!

Until next time – happy stamping!

Great cards, Deborah! I love the idea of just using the open balloon die-cut. It looks great with the clouds.

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
