Paper Craft Crew – Number of Years

Paper Craft Crew DT Badge

Hello again, stamping friend!  I hope you’ve been enjoying the challenges at the Paper Craft Crew; we do like to switch it up a bit now and again; last week we had that great colour challenge, and you really stepped up!  There were fabulous cards entered; it was a joy to look at them, and leave a comment on everyone’s posts.

This week we’re back to a sketch challenge – have a look:

PCCCS184

I love the options this sketch presents!  You can use designer papers, solid cardstock, and of course where the flowers are in the sketch, you can use any shape you like.

This is my card:

PCCCS184

I wanted my focal image to stand out, so I went with a solid piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock, on which I stamped the hatched design from the Timeless Textures stamp set, in Pear Pizzazz ink.

Using the Number of Years set, I stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, then added the flowers in Blackberry Bliss ink.  I used the Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Write Marker to fill in the centers of the flowers.  The 2 3/8″ Scallop  Punch was used for the image, then the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch used for the layered Blackberry Bliss cardstock circle behind it.

The sentiment is from the Garden in Bloom stamp set, inked with Blackberry Bliss ink and punched out using the 2″ Circle Punch.  I used a Sponge Dauber to add some Blackberry Bliss ink around the edges of the sentiment.

Before layering the stamped pieces onto the card base, I added 2 strips of Designer Series Paper; the top piece is from Timeless Elegance, and the bottom piece is from Bohemian packs.  After attaching all the layers, it came time to add the accent pieces.  I used the Petite Petals stamp set and coordinating Punch for the 2 flowers (inked in Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay), and the Papillon Potpourri set and Bitty Butterfly Punch for the small butterfly.

So, while it’s a pretty simple looking card, I actually used 5 stamp sets, 5 punches, 3 cardstock colours and 4 ink colours to pull it all together!  I like it, though – I hope you do, too! 🙂

I hope you’ll head over to the Paper Craft Crew page and see the amazing cards the rest of the Design Team have created for your inspiration.  Please leave a comment here, if you have the time, to let me know how you liked my card, and/or are enjoying the challenges.

Of course, if you’d like to order any of the products I used to create this card, you can click on my signature below to go directly to my online store.

Until next time – happy stamping!
