Paper Craft Crew – Sketch Challenge #182

Hello my stamping friend!  I hope you’re ready for another sketch challenge with the Paper Craft Crew!

It’s great seeing so many people taking part in the challenges – they’re lots of fun, don’t you think?  I always enjoy them, especially when I’ve hit a creative ‘block’ – they’re a great starting point.

This week is no different – here’s our sketch:

PCCCS182

And here is my take on it:

PCCCS182 Picture Perfect

I really pulled out my stamp sets for this one!  I’ve used 2 sets; Picture Perfect for the hummingbird, and Thoughts & Prayers for the branch of flowers.  I also used some of the beautiful paper from the Botanical Gardens suite.

I started off by using my Stampin’ Write Markers in Calypso Coral and Mossy Meadow to colour the stems, leaves and flowers on the Thoughts & Prayers branch, and stamped it onto a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I then stamped the hummingbird; as you may know it’s a 4-step stamp ; the colours I used are Smoky Slate, Blackberry Bliss, Tempting Turquoise, and Cucumber Crush.

I layered the stamped panel onto a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock, then added the loops of Silver Cording Trim in the upper & lower corners.  I attached the panel of Botanical Gardens DSP to  the Calypso Coral card base, then attached my focal panels.  The sentiment was stamped in Calypso Coral ink, and die cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits.  I lightly sponged the edges with a Dauber and Calypso Coral ink, as I didn’t want to add another layer of cardstock.

To finish off the card, I added the 2 Botanical Gardens Jewels above & below the sentiment, and then added a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels in the upper right corner (a little hard to see, but they’re there!).

Please check out the Paper Craft Crew page to see what the rest of the Design Team have created – they are fabulous, as usual!  Then make sure that you link up your card for the challenge;  we love having you play along, and I so enjoy looking at everyone’s blogs, and leaving a comment 🙂

Until next time – happy stamping!
