Wow, I hope your spring weather was as good as our on Thursday – it was up to 20 degrees Celsius! That’s practically summer weather 🙂 The birds have been enjoying themselves, that’s for sure; I just put out new bird food, and it’s almost half gone already.
I’m back today with another sketch challenge card for the Paper Craft Crew; they sure are good at making these sketches! By the way – thank you to everyone who voted for my last card; it was once again a top 3 pick! There’s another vote going on now, if you’d like to head on over and give me another vote 😉 It’s for challenge 136, and my card is #9.
Here is the sketch for the newest challenge:
Here is my card, using a set that I just got!
This stamp is from the set called Guy Greetings; it’s in the Occasions catalogue, and it’s perfect for just about every ‘guy’ situation for which you’d need to make a card! It has a total of 22 stamps; 11 images and 11 sentiments.
Since the man in this image is striking such a ‘manly’ tough pose, I thought using the brick design in the Adventure Bound Paper Stack would measure up to his toughness! I started with a card base of Basic Gray cardstock, stamped some spatter onto it in Smoky Slate ink using the Gorgeous Grunge set, then layered the brick image DSP onto that. The scallop circle peeking out of the bottom is punched using the retired Scallop Die in Cajun Craze; again inked with the Gorgeous Grunge spatter in Cajun Craze ink.
The image is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock; I then used the Smoky Slate ink and my Blender Pen to colour his pants and shoes. The white background was a little too stark for my liking, so I used the Smoky Slate and Cajun Craze ink pads and my Aqua Painter, and smudged it up a bit. Suits the tough guy image, right? 😉 To finish off, I added the 3 Candy Dots in the top right corner of the image panel, and attached it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped in Cajun Craze ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and I cut it out using my Paper Snips, and attached it using Stampin’ Dimensionals (I love my Dimensionals – can you tell?!)
Well, that’s it for another day! I’ve been busy getting ready for my Technique Club meeting tomorrow; I just know the ladies will love what we’re going to be doing!
Oh – if you haven’t already heard – Stampin’ Up! has added new items to the Clearance Rack – so now is a good time to go shopping 🙂
Until next time – head on over and check out what the design team at the Paper Craft Crew has created, and check out the other cards submitted for this challenge. (and, if you like it, you can vote on my card for the last challenge #136!)
