Hey there, stamping friend! I hope you’re having a fabulous week:)
I hope you’re in the mood for a creative challenge; this week, the Paper Craft Crew has a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge for you:
I decided to go for a diagonal line, from the bottom left corner – Christmas Theme, Shaker Card, Embossing. I decided that I was going to use a Thinlit Die set that was one of the first sets I got from the Holiday catalogue, but that I’d only used once before.
I have to admit – this card came together pretty quickly! In fact, I’m thinking of using this as my holiday mail-out card!
First, I took my panel of Whisper White cardstock, and using the Big Shot with the Detailed Santa Thinlits Die, die cut the Santa face. Using the Precision Plate is a must for getting all those little swirls out of his beard, and the little pieces from his eyes and mouth – and it makes an easy job of it!
I then used the Real Red ink to stamp the sentiment, which comes from the Greetings from Santa stamp set. Bonus – you can Bundle the Detailed Santa Thinlits Dies with the Greetings from Santa stamp set, and Save 10%!
Next, I used the Seaside Embossing Folder and embossed only the bottom portion, under the die cut. I think that the ‘waves’ pass quite well for snow drifts! 🙂 You have to emboss after you stamp, otherwise your letters will be all wonky.
To create the shaker portion of the card, I cut a 4″ x 4″ piece of Window Sheet, and glued it behind the die cut opening. I then placed the Adhesive Foam Strips all around the die cut outline, on top of the Window Sheet. I added some Stampin’ Dimensionals at the bottom of the panel, so it was all the same height, then put the sequins at the top of the Real Red card base. After removing the backing from the Foam Strips and Dimensionals, I placed the die cut panel on top of the card base, centering it in the middle of the card.
Boom! Card done! Then I spent a few minutes having fun shaking the card! 🙂 (c’mon, admit it – you do it too, after you make a shaker card!).
I hope you enjoyed seeing my card; please leave a comment if you have time – I love to read your comments 🙂 Then, be sure to check out the Paper Craft Crew blog page for more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team, then LINK UP YOU CARD for the challenge! I’ll be looking for it!
