PCCCS229 – New Sketch Challenge

Hello stamping friend, and welcome to another fabulous challenge with the Paper Craft Crew!

This week, Pam has put together another terrific sketch to use as your starting point – have a look:

I just received a new stamp set, so I wanted to play with it:

This stamp set is called Falling For You, and it’s in the Occasions catalogue right now.  It’s part of the Falling in Love Suite, but for once, I decided NOT to use the gorgeous Falling in Love DSP – because I use it so much!! (it really is gorgeous – you can’t blame me!)

I started with a card base of Sahara Sand cardstock, then layered a panel of Soft Sky cardstock on top of that.

On a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock, I used the Work of Art stamp set for the medium brush stroke you can see at the bottom, in Pool Party ink.  Then I added the tiny blossoms of I think it’s Queen Anne’s Lace flower randomly around that.

I have to say – I’m really glad that my new professional light box & lights are on their way to me right now – because trying to capture the true colours of the Soft Sky & Pool Party just didn’t really work – and this is the best of about a dozen pictures I took! 🙁

On another piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the sentiment from the Falling for You stamp set in Versamark ink & Pool Party, then the full Queen Anne’s Lace flower stem around the top & bottom of the sentiment.  I then covered them with Clear Embossing Powder, and heat set it using my Heat Tool.  That’s how they look so shiny!

I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut the sentiment, and used the Layering Circles Framelits to die cut the scalloped circle from Soft Sky cardstock.  I layered one of the new Lace Doilies in between the sentiment circle and the scalloped one, then attached them to the stamped Very Vanilla panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Did you know that the Lace Doilies are Very Vanilla on one side, and Whisper White on the other side?!  That way you can use them, no matter what your neutral colour is!

I attached a length of Very Vanilla 1/4″ Satin Ribbon to the back of one of the Falling in Love Embellishments, and used Glue Dots to attach that to the lower portion of the circles.

To finish off the card, I added a few Rhinestones to the front – to coordinate with the rhinestones in the Embellishment – then attached the front panel to the card base.

This whole Falling in Love Suite, which coordinates with so many stamp sets, and you can mix & match it with other sets outside of the suite, is certainly worth investing in; it gives you cards such a finished look, when everything coordinates!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my card; and I hope you’ll head over to the Paper Craft Crew blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created, for your inspiration!  You’ll be glad you did 🙂  Then of course, please link up your own card for the challenge; it’s always such a source of inspiration for me to see what you, and so many others create.

If you’d like to order any of the supplies needed to make this card, and you don’t already have a demonstrator, just click on the images below, and  you’ll be taken directly to my online store – open 24/7.  Or, contact me directly and I’ll be  happy to place your order for you.

Until next time – happy stamping!
