SUDSOL Blog Tour – Happy Holidays!

Welcome to the first Holiday SUDSOL Blog Tour!  I’m so glad you’re here 🙂

If this is your first SUDSOL tour, let me give you a bit of background; SUDSOL is an acronym for Simply Unique Demonsrators Sharing OnLine – a membership group for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators only.  This is a fabulous group that helps you focus on building your business, sharing creative ideas and smart business practices.  I’ve been a member for almost 3 years – which is how long I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator – two of the best decisions ever! 🙂

If you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, you can join SUDSOL now, or try it out for 2 Weeks for FREE!  Simply click HERE, then fill out your information and enjoy 2 weeks of fabulous sharing, challenges, and chats, not to mention access to business form templates, creative outlines and templates, and a membership perk – free exclusive training videos and information from 2 of the industry’s top Creative Coaches – John Sanpietro and Ronda Wade!   There is simply no way to lose – a FREE 2 WEEK TRIAL, with access to all this information – CLICK HERE for your FREE TRIAL!

The Blog Tour is made up of a group of SUDSOL members who have created projects especially for this Tour.  Each blog is linked to the blog before and after it; all you have to do is click either the ‘Next’ button or the ‘Previous’ button to go forward or backwards through all the participating blogs.  I have the honour of being 1st on the list this time – only because I had my projects done first 🙂

So without further ado – let’s get on with the real reason you’re here – the projects!

Mantle Decor

I don’t actually have a fireplace mantle to decorate, but if I did – this would be on it!  Instead, I’ll just have to put it on the hearth 🙂   Although I used a retired alphabet set (sorry, it’s  the only one I have!) you could use any set you have on hand.  The panels are cut from Old Olive card stock, and layered alternately with Whisper White panels and pieces of All is Calm designer series paper.  I used various stamps from the White Christmas and Holiday Home photopolymer stamp sets – I just love mixing and matching the elements from these two sets – my favourites!  You can also see that I used the Frosted Sequins to add some bling and extra interest to the panels.  This was such a fun project to do – I hope you give it a try!

My next project are some holiday gift tags – we all  need them, so let’s make them fun & fancy!

Trio of Tags

Starting on the left, you can see a different use of the Holiday Home stamp set – and don’t you just love Santa & his reindeer flying above?!  I stamped Santa and the trees directly onto the All is Calm designer series paper, and used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Everything on this tag, including Santa, the house, etc. are included in the Holiday Home set – a fabulous deal for 24 stamps at only $19.95 Canadian!  The matching Homemade Holiday Framelits Dies make it even easier to cut out the house shape – plus you save 15% if you buy the bundle 🙂

The center tag features an old favourite Frosty snowman from the Best of Christmas (from last year) but it showcases the terrific Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This is cardstock-weight kraft paper that is heavier than our regular cardstock – perfect for tags that will stand up to a lot of peeking!  The sentiment is from another great photopolymer set  called Christmas Tagables.

The last tag on the right was quick & easy – using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and popping the snowman onto a piece of All is Calm DSP, cut with the Banner Framelits.  Stampin’ Up! tools make crafting so easy!

My final project is a super cute ornament, made especially easy with the Stars Framelits Dies.

3D Star ornament

By using different sizes of the Star Framelits, and scoring the cherry cobbler star frame to make it 3D, I was able to quickly pull this ornament together.  In fact, it was so easy that I made it double-sided – the same on both sides!  I liked the Sparkle sentiment from  the hostess special set Good Greetings – I thought it was appropriate for a star! 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed my projects for this blog hop; I would love it if you have the time to leave me a quick comment!

Now you’ll want to click on the ‘Next Blog’ button, to see the amazing projects by our Sandy Risi – she always amazes me with her creativity!

Until next time – Happy Stamping!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Up! family, Deb! (great name, by the way 🙂 ) I’m sending you an email in case you don’t read this reply – I’m not positive if the instructions for everyone’s projects are currently on the SUDSOL site, but we’re a generous bunch, and you can feel free to ask for them! I’ll be posting mine shortly – I have 1 more blog hop coming up this week to prep for, plus a class!
