Up For A Challenge

Hello stamping friend!  Are  you up for a challenge – a Paper Craft Crew challenge, that is?!

This week’s challenge is a fun Colour Challenge – have a look:

Up For A Challenge

How To Play Along

It’s super easy to play along with PCC242 – Colour Challenge.  All you need to do is create a card or project using 3 of the 4 colours shown above.  You can also use neutrals – white, vanilla, gray, black and brown – as ‘free’ colours to use as well.

If you need inspiration, head over to the Paper Craft Crew challenge page, and see what all the of the Design Team have created for you, including my card.  Then, after you’ve finished with your project, link it up, and you may be our next Top Pick! 🙂

My Card

I went with Coral, Deep Blue, and Pale Yellow as my colour selections.  I used Stampin’ Up!’s Calypso Coral, Dapper Denim and So Saffron inks.

Up For A Challenge

I’m so glad that the Jar of Love stamp set and coordinating Everyday Jar Thinlits Dies are carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue!  The colours I chose are carrying over, too.

Details

I did add in one colour that wasn’t on the list – and that’s the Pear Pizzazz ink and cardstock that I used for the leaves and stems.  Other than that – it’s all legit!

My card base is So Saffron cardstock, layered with Calypso Coral and Whisper White.  On separate pieces of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the flowers in Calypso Coral and So Saffron ink; stamping the full flower after stamping off once.  Then, the shading stamp was stamped full strength, to provide depth.

To provide more depth to the image, the jar was stamped in Basic Black Archival ink, then die cut using the Everyday Jar Thinlits and the Big Shot.  The ‘water’ was created by stamping with the Dapper Denim ink pad.  I both stamped leaves/stems directly onto the jar and Whisper White panel, as well as stamping and die cutting from Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  So Saffron ink was used to stamp the sentiment directly onto the card front, once the flowers, leaves and stems were attached using both Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multipurpose Glue.

Make Your Card Stand Out

Up For A Challenge

You can make your card stand out from the crowd by adding dimension!  The first obvious one is having more than one layer of cardstock for your card.  Second is to add die cuts. And to add even more dimension and depth to you card, add the die cuts in varying heights.  I did this by attaching some with the Multipurpose Glue, and others with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Of course you can also add embellishments such as pearls, rhinestones, sequins and ribbon to your card to give it some extra ‘oomph’ 🙂

Get Creating!

Now it’s your turn to get creating! You can get the link to join the challenge on the Paper Craft Crew blog page.  I’m looking forward to seeing what colours you choose, and what you create with them.
