Women In Need Of Stamping! (W.I.N.O.S.) Class

Oh my gosh – we had such fun last night at our card class – thanks so much to Debbie, Christine, Deanna and Susan for making it such fun!  I'm so looking forward to seeing you again at an upcoming class.

Here's a picture of the gals, after completing their first card:

Don't they – and their cards – look terrific?! ๐Ÿ™‚

We started out with lemon-iced tea,  but when we took a break part way through the class, wine was available, along with strawberry cheesecake, two-bite brownies, red-pepper jelly and artichoke & asiago cheese spread with bread and crackers.  Can you say 'yummm'!?  Of course, I remembered to take pictures of the ladies, and cards – but forgot to take a picture of the food!  Oh well – you'll have to take my word for it!  I do like to provide good yummies for my clients – it's all part of the fun experience!  (plus, it helps keep us going!)

Everyone made 6 cards at the class – we focused on Birthday cards, because they're something we all need, all year long!

Here's pictures of the cards:

How cute is this bow?!  And it's super easy to make.  I'll show you how tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, I just had to share my love of the 'Giggle Greetings' stamp set – and everyone did Giggle!  We added some whimsy to the card by creating a 'swiss cheese' background effect.

Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla – such a soft, yummy combination in the Blossom Punch card.  Punching out the blossom shape in the Very Vanilla and putting Tea for Two Designer Series Paper behind really makes it 'pop'; and a Vintage Faceted Designer Button makes the perfect centre.

Everyone just loved learning the 'Rock & Roll' technique to colour this flower from the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set.  Isn't it just gorgeous? Using So Saffron and Pistachio Pudding inks make for a wonderful combination.  The sentiment is from the 'Yippee Skippee' stamp set, and notice the detail of the 2 'Candy Dots' in the bottom right corner ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the calm, soothing look of this card, with it's neutral colours and 'seascape' look.  We used the Faux Paint Swatch technique on this card, using Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Sky and So Saffron inks, then stamping the birds and reeds from the Wetlands stamp set.  I just love the versatility of that set!  Layering the stamped image on card stock of the same colours really harmonizes the whole card.

The new Thinlit Card Die – Label was a huge hit with everyone!  I just love the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper, paired up with the Crisp Cantalopue card stock.   Here we used the 'Perfect Blend' stamp set, and a retired 'Espresso Yourself' set for the inside sentiment & coffee beans (cute, right?!).

On this card we extended the card and made the extra fold, so there is a place to write on the inside panel.  Tomorrow I'll show you how to do that, as well as make that cute bow on the 1st card.

We also used one of the arrow framelits that come with this set, and the Adorning Accents Edgelits to make the scallop edge inn Crisp Cantalopue.

And, just to give everyone a 'teaser' for the upcoming Christmas card class – I showed off another Thinlit Card Die – Flip style.

On this card, I used the new Festive Flurries stamp set and matching Framelits – can you say easy & gorgeous!  The Silver Glimmer Paper and Rhinestones add the perfect touch of bling, don't you think?

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing the cards as much as we enjoyed making them!

Be sure to come back tomorrow to see how to make that gorgeous bow, and see how to extend your Flip card with the Thinlits Card Die.  Also, I'll have my Calendar of Classes updated as well – you'll want to sign up soon – there's some exciting things coming up!

Remember to join in the Late Night Stampers Treasure Hunt – visit the fabulous blogs (click the page at the top to get to the list), and collect at least 50 clues.  Once you've collected your clues, email them to me at debsmart@shaw.ca, and you'll be entered into a prize draw for FREE Stampin' Up! product!

Until tomorrow – Happy Stamping!
