Hello, my Stamping Friends!

I  hope that you have all had a great week 🙂   I know that depending on where you live, the weather can be either wonderful or horrible; we've been having some of both!  Actually not so horrible; just rain & wind storms, then to the extreme today of beautiful sunshine and 16 degrees Celcius!  Yet the weather report is calling for snow flurries this weekend… *sigh*

Well, this Monday we had a reason to celebrate, and that was my youngest son's 16th Birthday!!  A huge milestone in anyone's life, as it means that he's now elegible to drive.  In fact that  very day, I took him to the Motor Vehicle Office, and he successfully passed his test, and is now the proud holder of a "Learner" driving permit 🙂

We've been out practicing driving every day, with him in the driver's seat, of course, and I must say (at the possibility of sounding biased!) that he is doing extremely well!  Yes, I am the proud mother of 2 wonderful boys 🙂

As part of marking this milestone, I decided to make him one the so-popular 'Card in a Box' cards – you may remember I did one version a while back for the Spring Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop – here it is

Of course, flowers and birds wouldn't have been appropriate, so I had to come up with a theme or items that he would like!

Here's what I came up with

My son loves Sloth's, so he was thrilled to see that I included these ones from the set 'Fun with Christmas'  – aren't they cute?  Hanging onto the balloons, and the signs!

Of course with the upcoming driving test, I just had to include cars – from the 'Rev Up the Fun' set (#130523cm/#130520wm).  The 'Party this Way' set is retired, but worked perfectly for this card.

I've been having fun the last few days playing with the Fringe Scissors (#133325 Occasions Catalogue), making flowers and fringes for cards, and grass, of course!  I'm putting together a quick tutorial on using them, that I'll have posted in the next few days.

I'm also working on new projects for – wait for it – another Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!!  That's right – the now monthly blog hop is coming up on March 13th – 15th.  This month, we'll have a record of 15 participating blogs, and we'll be truly International!!, with our good friend Jeanne Kupsh in Germany joing us!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my son's birthday card, and you'll come back in a couple days when I'm back with "Fun with Fringe Scissors"!

Until then – Happy Stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project; whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :) If you're in Canada, you can Join My Team as a SU! demonstrator. If you're in the Great Vancouver area, you're welcome to join my classes - we always have fun!

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
