All That Sparkles Challenge

Hi there, stamping friend! I hope you’ve got your sunglasses handy, because today’s card is super sparkly! I’ve joined the Scrap ‘N Stamp ‘All That Sparkles’ challenge, and lets just say that I’m pretty sparkly myself, right now. Glitter seems to get everywhere, doesn’t it? But that’s part of the fun, and it’s that time of year, anyway.

This is the pretty graphic they designed for the challenge; believe it or not, they hadn’t created this graphic yet, when I was creating my card.

All That Sparkles Challenge

Isn’t that pretty? Gets you in  the mood to pull out the glitter, doesn’t it?  If you’d like to join as well, you can search Facebook for their page – it’s called Scrap ‘N Stamp Challenge Page. So yes -you have to be on Facebook to enter the challenge.

Once you see my card below, you’ll see why I put the disclaimer that I hadn’t see their challenge graphic yet. It’s like I was channeling whoever created it! What can I say? “Great minds think alike”, right? *wink*

All That Sparkles Challenge

I pulled out a couple of retired sets for this card; the Festive Flurry stamp set and matching Framelits, and the Wonderland stamp set for the sentiment.

I originally was going to stamp the snowflakes onto Whisper White cardstock, but when I did, I decided that they didn’t sparkle enough. So, I switched to Bermuda Bay cardstock, and stamped the snowflakes in Versamark ink. After stamping, I covered them with Ranger Sticky Embossing Powder, and then activated it with a Heat Tool. When heated, the Sticky Embossing Powder becomes like a glue. I then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, and then heated it once again, just to be sure the glitter was set to the cardstock.

Next, use the Festive Flurry Framelits with the Big Shot, and die cut the smallest snowflake shape from the middle of the glittery panel. Attach a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the cut out, holding it in place with Tear & Tape. Use the Foam Adhesive Strips to create a ‘barrier’ around the die cut shape, and then fill with your choice of sequins. I used the gorgeous Starry Sky Mix from Pretty Pink Posh – the picture just doesn’t do justice to the sparkle in this mix! Now you can remove the backing from the Adhesive Strips, and cover your sequins with another panel of Window Sheet.

Add more Adhesive Strips around the edges of your panel (on the back), and then attach it to your card base of Coastal Cabana cardstock. For the sentiments, stamp the sentiment from the Wonderland stamp set on a strip of Whisper White cardstock, in Versamark ink, and then cover it with Silver Embossing Powder. Set it with the Heat Tool, and the use the Banner Triple Punch to make tails on both ends. Cut a strip of the Sparkle Glimmer Paper, and punch banner tails in each end of it, as well.

Attach the sentiment layers to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, across the bottom of the card front. Next, add some more of the sequins to the card front and sentiment, using the Tombow Multi glue to attach them.

Add a panel of Whisper White cardstock to the inside of your card. Add a sentiment in Coastal Cabana ink, from the Penny Black Peaceful Seasons stamp set. Finally, stamp some of the small snowflake images from the Festive Flurry stamp set to the inside, again using the Coastal Cabana ink.

This was a lot of sparkly fun, creating this card! You can get sparkly too, and join the All That Sparkles challenge if you want. I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

    1. Those snowflakes really do sparkle, don’t they, Susan?! I love how they pick up the colour of the cardstock, too. Thanks so much for visiting! 🙂
