All The Good Things

I’m back, with a new project to share with you! I hope that you’ve found my ‘non project’ posts, about ways to stay positive and creative, somewhat helpful. I’m always open to new ideas, so if you have any you’d like to share, drop me a note! Either comment on my post, or click on the ’email Deb’ button on the sidebar. Then I can share it with the other readers, here. Today I’m using an older stamp set from Stampin’ Up!, called All the Good Things. This is one of ‘those’ sets that I’ve just had to hand onto; I love the images and sentiments.

NO KINDNESS IS EVER WASTED

A lovely sentiment, and so true always. Especially now, when we’re all looking for reassurances.

All The Good Things

I felt that the image & sentiment didn’t need anything ‘extra’, so I kept this card nice and simple.

CARD DETAILS

I decided to create a ‘faux watercolour’, by using my MISTI and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. First, set up the watercolour paper in the MISTI, or other stamp platform. Line up the stamp, and pick it up on the lid. Start with the trunk of the tree, and add 060 Brown and 062 Dark Brown. Next, lightly spray the stamp with water, and then stamp firmly onto the watercolour paper. Repeat the inking & stamping, as well as spraying, if needed. Next, use the 060 Brown and 070 Orange markers to colour the pot. Again, lightly mist with water before stamping. Now, colour the leaves with 041 Light Green and 043 Olive Green, and repeat the spraying and stamping steps.

To stamp the sentiment, which is part of the whole stamp, mask off the tree & pot. Next, ink up the sentiment, remove the mask, and then stamp firmly. You may need to repeat the inking & stamping, to get a crisp impression on the textured watercolour paper.

FINISH IT OFF

To finish off the image panel, I used a blending tool and lightly added some Broken China Distress Oxide ink around the edges.  Next, create a medium blue card base, and add a layer of green cardstock. Add the card front, using fun foam or foam tape. Finish it all off by adding a few green coloured dots on the bottom right corner.

SUPPLIES

This card comes together quickly – more quickly than it looks! This would be another great project to send or give out as part of the #thisartistlovesyou program, that I shared in THIS post. I hope that you feel inspired, either to create, or share, or just reach out by card, phone, letter or text to someone you’re thinking of.  Have a great day – and be sure to come back tomorrow, for another great blog hop with the Scrap ‘N  Stamp Design Team!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
