ANOTHER ADORABLE SLOTH

I just can’t help myself – these sloths are just too cute! I had to use another adorable sloth on my husband’s birthday card (not that I’m poking fun at his ability to nap at the drop of a hat!). You may have seen the first card I made with this non – Stampin’ Up! stamp set; the sloth in the coffee mug. If you missed it, you can SEE IT HERE.  While the stamped image isn’t SU!, all of the other products used are!

A SLOTHSOME BIRTHDAY

Another Adorable Sloth

I told you this sloth was adorable!

CARD DETAILS

The colouring takes a little bit of time, but this card came together quite quickly! First, stamp the image onto Whisper White cardstock in Memento Black ink. Next, colour the sloth with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I used the Crumb Cake Combo Pack, and the Bronze and Ivory single Blends markers. The tree branch is coloured with the Light Crumb Cake and the Light Smoky Slate Blends. Use the Old Olive Light Blends for the leaves and hat, and the Lovely Lipstick Combo pack for the balloon.  The sentiment is stamped with Lovely Lipstick ink pad.

After colouring, attach the image panel to a panel of Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper, with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I chose the fun balloons pattern, since the sloth has a balloon on his branch. Next, wrap a length of 1/8″ Solid Ribbon in Red around the 2 panels, attaching it in back with Tear & Tape. Now you can attach your panels to your card base of Lovely Lipstick cardstock.

LOOK AT THAT FACE!

Look at that little sloth smile! This is just a gratuitous close up, so you can see the face, as well as the blending with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. I love using them for colouring images – they are so smooth & easy to use, and don’t leave streaky lines.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project; whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :) If you're in Canada, you can Join My Team as a SU! demonstrator. If you're in the Great Vancouver area, you're welcome to join my classes - we always have fun!

  1. So cute, Deborah! And it looks great with the DSP! I almost bought that set last week, but decided to live vicariously through you! Happy birthday to your hubby!

    1. Glad you like my sloth card, and the Broadway Bound Birthday DSP. It’s awesome paper, with gold foil on one side & bright colours on the other 🙂
