Bird Banter Birthday

Hello again, stamping friend! I hope you’re having a great week πŸ™‚ I’m back sharing another card that I had made as a sample for my Sale-A-Bration Celebration. I like it so much, in fact, that I made a second one, for my own Dad’s 86th birthday!

Bird Banter Birthday

This fun Bird Banter stamp set can be found on page 42 of the new Occasions catalogue. It’s whimsical bird images, along with the witty sentiments, captured my heart immediately!

First, stamp the bird images, the party hat and one balloon image onto scrap Whisper White cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Next, use your Stampin’ Blends markers in Cherry Cobbler, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive to colour in the birds. Also colour in the balloon and party hat. Have fun!! The large bird resembles a Macaw, so I went with those bright colours. The smaller bird reminds me of a parakeet, so I went with the greens and yellow of that bird. Use your Paper Snips to cut out the images.

On two pieces of Color Theory Designer Series Paper, stamp the branch image so that they will be facing each other, when attached to the card. Add some extra leaves, then colour them in with the Old Olive Stampin’ Blends marker.

Attach the 2 strips of DSP to a panel of Whisper White cardstock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, so that the branches face each other (see picture above). Now attach the birds to each branch, so that they face each other, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tie a bow with Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine, and leave 1 long strand. Attach the bow to the bottom of the balloon with Mini Glue Dots, then attach the long end behind the bird’s beak, so it looks like he’s holding the balloon.Β  Place the party hat onto the little bird’s head, with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

To finish off the front, stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock, and layer it on top of a piece of Real Red cardstock. Attach it to the card front, along with some Metallic and Iridescent sequins.

The fun layering on this card make it extra special! Where did I get the idea? From the Occasions catalogue! I copied the layout from the picture in the catalogue! πŸ™‚ And that’s okay – it’s called “CASE” – which stands for Copy and Share Everything. We share our ideas to inspire others!

The card I made for my Dad’s birthday (his 86th! woot!) is the same, except for the card base and balloon colour. I used Daffodil Delight for his card – have a look.

The sassy, sweet sentiments are perfect pairings for the outside sentiments πŸ™‚

See what I mean?! πŸ™‚Β  I added another little parakeet (budgie?) to the inside, this time looking the other way. The sentiment is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
