Hello Stampin' Friends!

I hope you've had a great start to the week; we're over the tough part (Monday) and onto 'hump day' Wednesday tomorrow!  Wow, time sure seems to be going quickly!  Next week, both my boys will be back at school – the start of a new school year.

Do you find that time flies, and catches you unprepared for the birthday of a friend or relative?   I know it happens to me – which is why I always like to make extra birthday cards to have on hand for just such occasions.  That was the reason behind my recent "Birthday Bash" card class – to make birthday cards, to be prepared!

One of the favourite cards is a real 'wow', but is quite easy to make!

I started with a Whisper White cardstock base. I used the Labels Collection Framelits (#125598) to cut out a frame in a piece of textured Pool Party card stock, and layered that on top.  Using Pool party, Midnight Muse and Calypso Coral inks, I stamped the flowers from the Mixed Bunch stamp set (#125537c/125535w) and punched them out with the Blossom Punch (#125603) and the Boho Blossoms Punch (#125603) and popped them up on the base with dimensionals.  The sentiment was stamped with a now retired birthday set.

So you see – using your Big Shot and punches can create a big impact on an otherwise simple card, giving it a big wow.

I'd love to see how you create a 'wow' on your cards – send me an email at debsmart@shaw.ca with a picture of your card, and I'll spotlight it here on my blog!

Looking forward to  hearing from you soon!  Until then – Happy Stampin'!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project; whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :) If you're in Canada, you can Join My Team as a SU! demonstrator. If you're in the Great Vancouver area, you're welcome to join my classes - we always have fun!
