Blog Hop Tomorrow!

Hello, Stamping friends!

I hope you're all having a great week!  It's been another busy one, and very hot & humid, around here.  I appreciate the sunshine, but wouldn't complain if it were a few degrees cooler 🙂

Anyway – I do have a fun announcement to make!

I have joined a terrific, creative, fun group of demonstrators and we've put together a Blog Hop, which starts tomorrow at 6:00 pm, Pacific Time.

What's a Blog Hop, you ask?  Well, you're in for a treat!  In a Blog Hop, you start here at my blog (or one of the others), and at each blog you will see 1 – 3 fabulous creations by each demonstrator.  At the bottom of the page, you'll see 'buttons' to go to the next blog, or back to where you just were, or to the home page.  There is also a list of all the participating blogs & demonstrators, if you like to just randomly hop about! 🙂

It's lots of fun, and you get to see different styles and techniques, by different demonstrators, from around the world!  I really hope you'll come back tomorrow, and join in the fun!

Until then, I do have a couple of gift items that I made for door prize draws to share with you.

This is a necklace, with a pendant I made from the 'Soda Pop Tops' that were in the Spring catalogue.

I started out by stamping the Script image from 'Collage Curios' (retired, from Spring catalogue) in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla card stock, then overstamped that in with the Leaf frame in Old Olive, then stamped the Butterfly image (both from Collage Curios) in Cajun Craze in the centre.  I then punched it out with the 1" Punch , and set it in the centre of a flattened Soda Pop top.  I then coated the entire image with Crystal Effects, and let it dry overnight.

The next morning, I puched a small hole using my Crop-o-dile, added a jump ring, and placed the pendant on a satin rope necklace.  I then made my own little 'presentation' package using Stampin' Up!'s 3"x5" cello bags, and a topper, and it was ready to go!

I find using the cello bags, and creating my own topper to suit the occasion, such a perfect way to dress up a small gift!  And of course, you can coordinate the card stock and ink with your gift, because they're all by Stampin' Up!  I love how the coordination challenge is all done for us, by Stampin' Up!

These next little gifts are shown un-packaged in this picture, but I did 'dress them up' like I did with the necklace above.

Yes, I still love butterflies!! LOL  And I had such fun making these bookmarks from jumbo paper clips!
It was easy to do, using the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die (item # 114507).  I used two of my favourite card stock colours – Calypso Coral and Pool Party – and some retired coordinating designer series paper.  Add some pearls, ribbon, and they're done!

I hope you'll give some of these gift ideas a try!  If you have any questions about how to make these, please let me know – just leave a message here – I love to read your comments, and appreciate you taking the time to leave one.

Remember – come back tomorrow – Thursday July 25th at 6:00  pm – and join the fun in the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!

Until then – Happy stamping!

    Hi Deborah,
Lovely butterfly bookmarks what did you used to stick the butterflies to the paper clip?
Love the soda pop necklace and love the way you have packaged it. It looks so professional. I was surprised your inks didn’t run more.

I have made a few of the necklaces and was disappointed as the ink blurred too much.
I experimented with heat embossing my 1″ creations with clear embossing powder then stuck my designs into the soda pop lids. Then applied the crystal effects. I found the ink doesn’t run quite as much as it does with crystal effects alone, leaving a slightly crisper image.

Thanks for sharing your creations, I love seeing what you’ve been up to.

Hi Laura!  I’m so glad you like my door prize gifts!  To make sure the butterfiles didn’t come off of the paper clips, I used E-6000 permanent bond glue (non-SU!).  Those butterflies aren’t flying away any time!!  I glued one large butterfly to the back of of the paper clip, the another large one on the front (after layering), to ‘sandwich’ the paper clip in between, and keep it nice & tidy looking 🙂

I’ve had the ink blur in some of my soda pop top necklaces if it’s an image I’ve printed out, rather than stamped.  Some people recommend heat-embossing the image, then adding the Crystal Effects, like you’ve done.

Thanks so much for your wonderful comments, and visiting my blog! You’ve made my day ♥

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
