Bokeh Dots for Paper Craft Crew Sketch

Welcome to this week’s challenge! It’s a sketch challenge this week, so I hope you’ve got your creative hat on πŸ™‚ I decided to use the Bokeh Dots for this Paper Craft Crew sketch, but of course you can use whatever strikes your fancy.Β  First, let’s take a look at the sketch.

Bokeh Dots for Paper Craft Crew Sketch

This is a great sketch, with lots of white space, but still lots of opportunity to be creative. Notice the stamped shape behind & to the left of the accent shape? I wonder what you’ll use for that!

I combined two of my favourites; the Bokeh Dots and the Rooted in Nature stamp sets.

I stayed with the rich Regal colours for this card – perfect for the fall type weather we’re having here on the west coast right now.

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the Bokeh Dots image in Crushed Curry ink. Use your Stampin’ Trimmer to cut the cardstock down to the size of the image. Layer it onto a panel of Cajun Craze cardstock that is 1/4″ larger than the image panel, with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Cut a small strip of Crushed Curry cardstock, and attach it to the back of the panel, with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

On a separate piece of white cardstock, stamp the leaf trio image from the Rooted in Nature stamp set in Cajun Craze ink. Use a Sponge Dauber and the Crushed Curry ink pad to add ink to the leaves. Use the Big Shot with the Nature’s Roots Framelits to die cut the leaves.

Cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Whisper White cardstock. Stamp the tree trunk cross-cut image onto it, with Cajun Craze ink. Attach the image panel over two-thirds of the stamped image, on an angle, with liquid glue. Cut a narrow strip of Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper, cutting banner tails in both ends with Paper Snips. Attach it across the lower portion of the image panel, with liquid glue. Next, attach the die cut leaves, with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finish off your card front by adding 3 of the Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets; I used the frosted ones.

I’m not sure what occasion I may use this card for, so I didn’t add a stamped sentiment on the inside yet. I did stamp the leaf trio image again, in the bottom right corner, in Cajun Craze ink.

I think I’m starting to get the hang of these ‘clean and simple’ designs! I’m actually able to leave white space without hyperventilating! LOL

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :)
