Candy Cane Season

The Candy Cane Season stamp set might slip past you, if you were really focused on the fun Signs of Santa set, on the page before it. But this one is worth a look! You can purchase the Candy Cane Season Bundle and save yourself 10%. You’ll get the Candy Cane Season stamp set (a set of 14 photopolymer stamps) and the Candy Cane Builder Punch. The punch is for not just the candy cane, but also the cute bow!

This card comes together very quickly – perfect for when you need to make multiples!

Candy Cane Season

Create the card base from Shaded Spruce cardstock. Cut a banner from Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper. Use the Banner Triple Punch to create the tails on the left end of the DSP. Attach it to the card base, with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Use the Candy Cane Season stamp set to stamp the ‘ho ho’ onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Die cut it with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits, into a circle shape. Next, on a strip of white cardstock, stamp the sentiment from the Candy Cane Season stamp set , and the candy cane on a large piece, in Real Red ink. Punch a banner tail onto the sentiment strip. Use the Candy Cane Builder Punch to punch out the candy cane.

On a scrap of white cardstock, stamp the background colour of the holly leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink. Next, stamp the detail lines in Shaded Spruce ink. Add the 3 berries image with Real Red ink. Cut out the leaves with Paper Snips.

First layer the stamped circle on top of the base banner, with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next, attach the candy cane, also with Dimensionals. Attach the sentiment banner, tucking one end just under the candy cane. Add the hand cut holly leaves where the sentiment meets the candy cane; attach with Dimensionals. Finally, tie a small bow – I used retired silver cording – and attach it to the holly leaves with a Mini Glue Dot.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

    1. Aww, glad you liked my candy cane card, Susan! As a kid, candy canes were my favourite pre-Christmas treat; we always got to take one off the tree on Christmas eve 🙂

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
