That’s right – I’m back with another challenge card entry! 🙂 What can I say – these challenges can be addictive – in a good way, of course!
This time, I went over to the Create with Connie & Mary page, to see what was happening there. I’ve been a ‘lurker’ of sorts on the CCM challenges; I’ve been seeing all the creations of both Connie & Mary, and all of their design team- they’re all so talented, and to be honest, I felt a bit intimidated. We’re all our own worst critics, aren’t we? But that’s what keeps us striving to do better, and try new things; at least, it works for me!
So, I’ve decided to take the plunge, and submit a card for the CCMC343. You never know until you try, right? 😉
Here is the sketch for this challenge:
And here is my interpretation of the sketch:
I started with the Confetti Celebrations Designer Series Paper as my colour inspiration. The Basic Gray background is the perfect neutral, don’t you think? From there, it was easy to use the colours in the DSP to pull onto the rest of the card. I stamped the Petite Petals 3 times, using Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay inks, then used the Petite Petals punch for punching them out. (Have I mentioned before how I LOVE having coordinating stamps and punches?! 🙂 ) I layered them onto the DSP, following the cut angle, then added a sequin in the centre of each flower.
I then stamped the sentiment from the Fabulous Four set in Versamark, and heat embossed it using Pewter embossing powder, to mimic the Basic Gray in the DSP. A couple more sequins, and this quick & easy card was done!
I hope you’ll head on over and see what the design team has made, and take a look at all of the other great card submissions! The blog is Create with Connie and Mary – have fun looking!
Until next time – happy stamping!
