Exhale Worry

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t worry about something. If I ever meet that person, I will ask how they manage it!  I guess the trick is not to worry about things outside of one’s own control. This stamp set from Picket Fence Studios is called Exhale Worry. I chose one of those sentiments for today’s card.

EXHALE WORRY

The die I used is ‘unbranded’, meaning it doesn’t come from any particular company. I’m very conscious about not buying ‘knock-off’ stamps or dies. Saving a few dollars for myself is doesn’t justify me buying something that was made by stealing the original idea from a designer.  An original design takes time, research, and personal investment from the designer, and then the company that manufactures it. If I’m wrong about this die, please let me know – and I won’t use it again!

I have seen similar images to this die online, in tattoo images.

CARD DETAILS

Start with a panel of white cardstock. Place your stencil on the front, and hold it in place either with a temporary adhesive spray, or low-tack tape. I use the Thermo Web Purple Tape for this.  Use a blending tool and apply Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink through the rays. Next, apply Spiced Marmalade Distress ink, keeping the colour closest to the center. Gently remove the stencil, and lightly apply the Spiced Marmalade ink to the sun circle.

Next, place your feather die on top of the stenciled panel, and run it through your die cutting machine. Keep some of the large birds that are released from the die.  Now, stamp your sentiment along the bottom of the panel in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. Cover it with clear embossing powder, and heat set.

Attach your die cut panel over the same sized panel of black cardstock, using liquid glue. Finally, attach your card front to a dark orange card base, with foam tape.

Exhale Worry

I like how the stencil and die cut add so much dimension to the card, without adding extra layers!

ADD TO THE INSIDE

Remember  how I said to keep some of the birds that are released when die cut? Well, you can use them now! Add a white cardstock panel to the inside of your card, for writing. Attach a few of the birds in the upper right and lower left hand corners of the inside panel.

Exhale Worry

I haven’t stamped a sentiment inside yet, as I’m not sure who I will send it to, for what occasion.

EXHALE WORRY

So my friend – don’t worry – get crafty! I find that working on projects helps take my mind off of things I might be worrying about, but have no control over. Retail therapy helps with that, too! *wink* I’ve added some links below, if you could use some of that, yourself.

Thanks for spending some time with me today! Have a good one 🙂

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :)
