FULL SIZED GIFT CARD HOLDERS
Hey stamping friend! Have you noticed lately that when you buy a gift card, it’s no longer that easy little rectangle? No, a lot of them now come with extra plastic, or packaging, making them about 4″ x 5″. Not very convenient for just tucking inside a note card anymore. Well, I found a version I thought I’d share with you, of a full sized gift card holder! It accommodates that extra plastic or packaging, and you can still write a little note.
A WISH FOR EVERYTHING
I have a lot of grown ups on my Christmas list, who are difficult to buy gifts for – only because they usually buy anything they want for themselves, during the year! So, gift cards to the rescue! I can get them a gift card to a store where I know they like to shop; then they can buy something there that catches their fancy, when it suits them.
After making the first one with the Santa’s Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper, I made more, using up some of my stash of retired papers, and stamps!
OUTSIDE AND INSIDE
The outside is actually the pouch for holding the inside gift card holder. So, maybe it’s a holder inside a holder?? Whatever you want to call it, here are the 2 parts.
The gift card actually slides inside the pocket on the left, then it slides into the pouch of the main holder. Here’s another look.
See – you pull up the gift card holder by pulling up the ribbon!
And here’s a picture of the inside holder, with a gift card actually inside!
Once you’ve purchased your gift card, you can tie the ribbon through it, as well as the hole in the pocket. You can then write your note on the stamped cardstock piece that’s attached to the front of the pocket. Of course, you’ve already decorated the outside of the pouch with pretty paper, and a stamped sentiment. For both sentiments, I used the Ready for Christmas stamp set. Cardstock used is Real Red, Garden Green and Whisper White; ink used is Garden Green.
