Hello stamping friend, and welcome to another fun sketch with Paper Craft Crew Design Team!
My card is pretty close to the sketch. A dragonfly is placed as the shape behind the banner.
First, I decided to use the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper. From there I pulled my colour palette of Mint Macaron and Calypso Coral. The sentiment is stamped in Calypso Coral ink onto Whisper White cardstock. It was easy to create the banner tails on each end with my Paper Snips.
It was fun creating the dragonfly. I wanted it to appear airy; I love how their wings are almost transparent in real life. Starting with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, the dragonfly was die cut using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies and the Big Shot. Using the Precision Plate for this thinlit is a must, to get all the details easily cut out. After die cutting, I wanted to add some colour, just like the dragonflies have in real life.
To achieve the lightly coloured look, I used the Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron ink pads with Sponge Daubers. I lightly sponged the Calypso Coral on the main body part and inner part of the wings, then sponged the wing edges with the Mint Macaron. After attaching the dragonfly with Stampin’ Dimensionals, 3 Rhinestones finish off the card. The details can be seen better in this picture.
Of course you have to decorate the inside of the card too! And add a sentiment.
Using the dots image from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, they are stamped in Mint Macaron ink (stamped off once) across the top of the of the inside panel. The sentiment is in Calypso Coral ink, also from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.
