Get Ready to Celebrate!

GET READY TO CELEBRATE!

Wow – here we are, December 31st. The final day of 2018. I hope that this past year has been good to you. I also hope that the coming year will be full of promise and good surprises! However you ring in the New Year, let’s get ready to CELEBRATE!

RED, WHITE OR CHAMPAGNE?

Get Ready to Celebrate!

Do you prefer to celebrate with red or white wine, or champagne? Something different, perhaps? Well, for this card I decided on making it red wine, although I’m a white wine girl, myself! (okay,  I’ll have a glass of champagne, if offered!).

WINE GLASSES & BOTTLE

If you’re going to be like me and want a gloss on your wine glasses and bottle, create these pieces the night before!  On your favourite white cardstock, stamp the images from the SU! Half Full stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Stamp another wine glass on a piece of masking paper or tape, cut it out and mask the first wine glass. Stamp the 2nd wine glass on an angle, so they appear to be ‘clinking’, and the remove the mask. Since the glass is quite small, I stamped it onto a piece of Post-it Labeling Tape to create the mask.

Since the image outlines are stamped in Memento ink, it’s safe to use alcohol based markers for the colouring. I used Stampin’ Up! Blends markers in Old Olive Combo for the wine bottle; Daffodil Delight Combo for the bottle lid & label, and Real Red Combo for the wine.

After colouring, apply Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the wine and highlighted areas on the glasses, and the wine bottle.  In the photo below, you can see more of the shine.  Allow several hours, or overnight, for the Nuvo glaze to fully harden, or you run the risk of putting your fingers into it! (ask me how I know).

CREATE THE BASE

Create the card base from Basic Black cardstock, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″.  Use the retired Large Number Framelits to die cut the year 2019 from gold foil paper, with the Big Shot. I used my Thermo Web purple tape to hold the dies in place while cutting. Save the die cut numbers for your next project! (spoiler alert – you’ll see that card in my next post!).

Attach the die cut gold paper to the card base with Tombow Multi liquid glue, making sure you add in the die cut middle of the 0 and the 9. Now, hand cut the wine bottle and glasses, and attach them over the numbers, with your favourite Foam Tape or Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

STAMP INSIDE

Add a panel of white cardstock to the inside, and stamp a sentiment suitable for the occasion. I used the Penny Black Sentiment Collection stamp set, and stamped in Real Red ink.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :)
