I honestly didn’t think that this stamp I had order would arrive in time for me to use it before Christmas – but guess what came today!? As soon as I saw this fun stamp set from Gina Marie Designs, I knew I had to have it. Even if it meant waiting a year to use it! It’s a fabulous 9 piece stamp Grinch Christmas set. It has 4 sentiments, and 5 images – including the iconic quote from the movie. Which yes, I used in this card!
MAYBE CHRISTMAS DOESN’T COME FROM A STORE
I just had to showcase this sentiment, because it’s one of my favourites from the movie (that and ‘stink – stank – stunk!’). I think everyone knows it, even people who haven’t seen the show, or read the book (where do these people live??!!).
I love the combination of fonts used in this stamp!
CARD FRONT DETAILS
Start with a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″. Stamp the retired Stampin’ Up! Festive Flurries stamp set largest snowflake image in SU! Granny Apple Green ink. Use your MISTI or Stamparatus (or other stamp positioner) in case you need to stamp it more than once. I find that sometimes with the larger stamps, you don’t always get good transfer on the first stamping.
With a Wink of Stella Clear pen, go over the snowflake design to add some shimmer. Next, use a blending tool to add some Granny Apple Green ink around the 4 corners of the panel.
This photo below shows the nice shimmer from the Wink of Stella.
On a 1 3/4″ x 3″ piece of white cardstock, stamp the sentiment from the Gina Marie Designs Grinch stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Use the Wink of Stella Clear pen to add some shimmer on each of the 4 corners. Cut a 2″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock, and layer it behind the sentiment panel, with Stampin’ Dimensionals or Foam Squares or Tape. Next, attach the sentiment panels over the middle of the snowflake image, with more Foam Squares or Tape.
Finally cut a card base at 4 1/4″ x 11″; score at 5 1/2″ and fold. Attach the front panel with Foam Squares or Tape.
STAMP INSIDE FOR MORE FUN!
Cut another 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of white cardstock. Stamp the Grinch hand image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink in the upper right corner. Then stamp the sentiment in SU! Granny Apple Green ink to the left of the image.
Colour the Grinch hand with a Blender Pen and Granny Apple Green ink. The sleeve is coloured with a Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker, and the bauble is coloured with the Daffodil Delight Combo Stampin’ Blends Markers. Use the Light Smoky Slate Blends marker to colour the cap of the bauble.
THE GRINCH LEARNED HIS LESSON
I think that in the end, the Grinch learned the true meaning of Christmas, don’t you?! Of course, I’m always happy to see how happy everyone is at the end of the story – including the dog Max – he was always my favourite! (I am a serious animal lover!).
