Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re ready for another round with the Paper Craft Crew this week. Get your spooky on, because it’s a Hallowe’en Haunting Inspiration challenge! Let’s have a look at the inspiration picture, shall we?
PCC354 INSPIRATION CHALLENGE
I admit that I don’t have a single Hallowe’en stamp set, so I had to get pretty creative! You get to choose whatever stamp set, layout, etc. that you want for your project. Then, link it up for the challenge – you may be our next Top Pick!
As I said, I don’t have any Hallowe’en stamp sets. I used to have a few, but we don’t really do anything for this occasion, other than give out candy. Even that has really dropped off; last year we didn’t have a single trick-or-treater! Every year has gotten less and less…which means more candy for us! Muahahahahaaaa….. seriously though- not a good thing. Anyway…onto my card! I dug into my stash of old retired sets, and came out with the Nature’s Silhouette wood stamp set from Stampin’ Up!
I thought that I could make it kinda spooky, by keeping everything in silhouettes, and some ‘atmospheric’ background colours.
Start with a 3 1/4″ square piece of white cardstock. Mask off a 1″ circle, for the moon. Around the edges, blend Black Soot Distress Oxide ink, Next, blend on some Dusty Concord, and then finally Fossilized Amber, both Distress Oxides. When you’re happy with the background, remove the mask for the moon.
Now, ink up the tree/grass stamp in Nocturne ink, and stamp onto the background. Next, add the howling wolf, also in Nocturne ink. Cover the stamping with clear embossing powder, and heat set. If needed, go back with the Black Soot ink and blend it some more into the stamping.
Layer your stamped panel onto a piece of dark orange cardstock with foam tape, and then onto a black card base.
I didn’t add a sentiment, but one can always be added later. So, what do you think? Spooky enough? It’ll have to do, from me!
