Hand Delivered Host Set

Welcome to this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge! This week we have a colour challenge for you; choose 3 of the 4 colours shown, with any neutrals (white, black, brown) acceptable. For my card I chose the Hand Delivered Host set. It’s available to anyone who places an order, or hosts a party, where the sales are $200 or more.

First, let’s have a look at the colours in the challenge.

Choose 3 of the 4 colours shown, in any shade you like. Add your neutrals as needed, and you get to choose the design, and everything else you want to create your project. I chose to use Yellow, Pink and Blue for my combination.

This fun set has the body & hands of a women, holding an assortment of different things! You can choose the balloons, as I did, or a cake, sign, or stack of books. It has a total of 16 stamps in the photopolymer set, and for only $18 in host credits, it’s a heck of a deal!

To ensure the bottom half of the lady is lined up with the top half, I used my Stamparatus stamp positioner. I didn’t want her to like some some magician’s trick gone wrong! First, stamp the bottom half in Memento Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Then line up the top half of the body holding the balloons, and stamp with Memento again. Use your Simply Shammy to wipe off the ink from the stamps, between stamping. While your cardstock is in the Stamparatus, you can line up your sentiment, and stamp it as well.

I like using my Simply Shammy when I’m using the Stamparatus; it keeps my hands from getting inky moving the stamps over to my Stampin’ Scrub!

Use your Stampin’ Blends markers to colour the balloons. I used the Combo Packs (light & dark shades of each colour) in Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and the now retired Pink Pirouette. You can use the Petal Pink, which has replaced the Pink Pirouette. Using both light & dark blends makes it easy to add shading and highlights to your balloons, and the dress. I stayed with the same Pool Party and Daffodil Delight Blends for the dress, shoes and belt.

To add some more interest to the card front, I created a couple of layers. Trim one of the borders from the Delightfully Details Laser-Cut Paper and attach it to the Daffodil Delight cardstock panel, with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Just a little dab’ll do ya! Attach this panel onto your Pool Party cardstock base, with the liquid glue. Next, attach your stamped panel on top, with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Adding the extra layer, and popping up the focal image with Dimensionals adds a lot more interest to your card!

For the inside sentiment, I used the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set. The sentiment is stamped in Pool  Party ink onto a Whisper White panel. I then added the confetti images, also from this set, in Daffodil Delight and retired Pink Pirouette ink.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
