Well here we are, it’s New Year’s Eve. I just want to say that I hope you have a fabulous celebration, whether you’re partying with friends & family, or simply curled up with your favourite book & beverage. Celebrations don’t have to loud! And I know that fireworks are not good for the environment, or animals – but they’re totally okay on cards.
BRIGHT & SHINY NEW YEAR
For this card, I combined an old favourite from The Ton called Pyrotechnics, and a new addition to my stash from Pretty Pink Posh called Happy New Year.
Gold fireworks – how fancy! And no, that’s not a smudge on the foil behind the sentiment – that’s part of the reflection of me with the camera! You just can’t hide when it comes to foil.
This card comes together very quickly, which is great if you need to send out New Year’s cards to those you forgot on your Christmas card list! *wink* First, set up the black cardstock panel in your MISTI, or other stamp platform. Arrange the firework stamps onto the cardstock, and then close the lid to pick them up. Cover the stamps with Versamark ink, and stamp down. Repeat the inking and stamping at least twice, to make sure all of the details are covered. Now, remove the panel from the MISTI. Cover the stamping with gold embossing powder, and heat set.
Next, set up a small piece of black cardstock in the MISTI, and stamp the sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh set in Versamark ink. Cover it with gold embossing powder, and heat set. Use a stitched square die to die cut the sentiment. Next, cut a slightly larger square from gold foil paper.
Now, layer the main panel onto a red card base with fun foam or foam tape. Attach the sentiment square to the gold square with foam tape. Finally, attach it to the middle of the main panel.
The Happy New Year set can be used for any celebration – just use the sentiment above, or add a different one. Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a card that uses the Happy New Year sentiment – be sure to come back & see it – it’s such a fun card!
