Hearts Come Home

Welcome back, stamping friend! Today I’m going to share with you the card we created on the weekend at my Holiday Catalogue Celebration, using the Hearts Come Home stamp set.  (if you missed that post, you can read it HERE).

HEARTS COME HOME – BUNDLE AVAILABLE!

If you’re a client of mine, or a frequent reader of my blog, you’ll know how much I LOVE the Bundles offered by Stampin’ Up!  I really feel that they are the best ‘bang for your buck’, and they stretch not just your crafting dollar – you save 10% on the price –  but also your crafting! Adding die cuts to your projects can bring a whole new level of dimension and a professional look to your projects.

So of course I was thrilled when I saw the Hearts Come Home stamp set can be purchased as a bundle with the Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies 🙂 It’s available in both Clear and Wood Mount; the stamp set has 16 stamps and there are 6 dies in the Edgelits set.  This is what you get:

MAKE & TAKE CARD

For the card, we didn’t use the Edgelits, but did use the stamp set and some other products from the Annual Catalogue.

Hearts Come Home

If you’re a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas colours, you’ll like this card! 🙂

DETAILS

Start with a card base of Garden Green cardstock; add a panel of Whisper White cardstock inside for the sentiment.  The focal point is created by stamping the house, trees and stars onto Whisper White cardstock in Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron ink.  Use the Stitched Circles Framelits to die cut, then use the Layering Circles Framelits to die cut the larger, scalloped circle from Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  Stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Whisper White, then use the Everyday Label Punch for punching it out.

PUTTING IT TOGETHER

Cut a panel of Be Merry Designer Series Paper to 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Before attaching it to your card base, wrap a length of the 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler across the bottom 1/3rd of the DSP, attaching it with either Glue Dots or tape on the back.  Attach the sentiment tag in the middle of the ribbon, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next, tie a bow with the same ribbon and attach it beside the sentiment, using Glue Dots.

Layer the stamped image onto the Cherry Cobbler scalloped circle using Dimensionals, then attach it to the DSP panel.  Now you’re ready to attach the front panel to your card base!

Adding the simple die cuts and punched elements add more WOW to what could be a very simple looking card.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project; whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :) If you're in Canada, you can Join My Team as a SU! demonstrator. If you're in the Great Vancouver area, you're welcome to join my classes - we always have fun!

    1. Thanks, Buffy! I thought that the trees on the DSP were a good ‘set up’ for the stamped trees in my image – that was my thought, anyway! 🙂

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
