Joyous Noel Blizzard

JOYOUS NOEL BLIZZARD

I love being able to combine stamp sets, dies and designer series paper. And Stampin’ Up! makes it easy, with coordinating colours and themes. Today’s card is a ‘Joyous Noel Blizzard’, which combines the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set with Blizzard Thinlits Die. Of course, you can Bundle the stamp set and die, and SAVE 10%! Always an option that I opt to take!

One of my favourite memes from the internet  is this one:

Joyous Noel Blizzard

I think it’s so funny! I’m sure we’ve all have the dreaded ‘regret’, when we thought ‘oh, I can fussy cut that image’ – then realized 5 cards in that it’s A LOT of work – and wished we’d bought the die!  I shared this meme before on my business Facebook page. JOYOUS NOEL BLIZZARD CARD

Here is my combination card, showing off the beautiful snowflakes.

CARD FRONT DETAILS

I created the card directly onto the card front, so I used the Thick Whisper White cardstock for my card base. Cut 2 strips of Joyous Noel Specialty DSP; the thicker one in the snowflake pattern, and thinner one in the dots pattern. Attach the dots pattern across the top of the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the snowflake pattern across the bottom. Next, cut a border trim from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut paper, and glue it across the bottom of the dots pattern paper.

Use the Everyday Label Punch and punch 3 label shapes from Tranquil Tide cardstock. Trim them down, and attach them under the top strip of DSP, with Dimensionals.

With the Big Shot and Precision Plate, die cut the snowflakes from the Blizzard Thinlits Die in Silver Glimmer Paper. After releasing all of the snowflake die cuts and dots, be sure to keep both the extra snowflakes, and the panel that has been die cut, for other projects!

Use Glue Dots to attach 2 large and 1 medium snowflake onto the punched labels, and add 3 of the die cut dots/circles on the bottom snowflake pattern.

Finally, stamp the sentiment from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set just above the snowflake DSP, in Tranquil Tide ink.

PRETTY DETAILS

I like how this card can be used all winter long – not just for Christmas. The fun snowflake pattern and pops of silver glimmer give it just enough ‘wow’.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project; whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :) If you're in Canada, you can Join My Team as a SU! demonstrator. If you're in the Great Vancouver area, you're welcome to join my classes - we always have fun!

  1. Oh – forgot to say I LOVE the meme! I have ordered either dies by themselves or stamps by themselves so many times, only to go back and buy the other half. UGH! Save that 10% , people! Bundle. (I should know by now.)

    1. Ha ha! Yup – I think we’ve all done it at least once, Buffy (and promise ourselves to remember not to do it again!)
Glad that you liked the card!

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
