Be Creative, Every Day

Sometimes it’s difficult to make it happen, but I think it’s important to keep creating, every day. Even if what you’re creating isn’t your ‘usual’ creation. Just the activity of creating something seems to soothe the soul, and you can say ‘I did that’ today. I’m not always able to get to my craft table, but I can create a blog post, or write a card or letter. Every day I make dinner – that’s a creation! Some days I just make a mess.  Lately I’ve felt more of a mess than anything, learning to make the earrings & pendants. Using new tools & products means a learning curve, which can be frustrating at times.

RANDOM ACTS OF CARDNESS – DAY 15

I decided to create a card for today’s ‘brush’ prompt for the Scrap ‘N Stamp challenge. I pulled out an old favourite Stampin’ Up! set called Crafting Forever – appropriate, right?

Be Creative, Every Day

Getting back to stamps and ink pads felt safe today, even though my table is a ‘creative mess’ with everything else on it!

CARD DETAILS

This was a nice quick & easy card to create. Stamp the brush pot image in Memento ink onto white cardstock. Use alcohol markers to colour. The ink mess at the bottom is created using another SU! set called Gorgeous Grunge. Use the Hero Arts Infinity Dies rectangles to die cut the image, and a bright blue panel for underneath.

On a yellow cardstock layer, add more ink splatters in the bright blue ink. Stamp the sentiment in the blue ink, and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Layer everything with foam tape or squares, and you’re done!

Keep Creating, Every Day

By adding the heat embossing and layers, this card is stepped up from ‘simple’ to a bit more ‘wow’.

GET CREATING – JOIN THE CHALLENGE!

To join the daily challenge with Scrap ‘N Stamp, check out their Facebook challenge page HERE. Create a project for a prompt (or as many as you want to join), and share it on the page with the hashtag #SNSCHALLENGE. At the end of the month, one lucky person will be randomly chosen to win a $50 Gift Card! (I’m not eligible, as I’m on the Design Team).  I find challenges can be really helpful if I’m in a creative slump, or just can’t decide what to work on next. I hope you’re inspired, and join the challenge!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. Creating can be messy but that is part of the fun. If you stop to clean up after every step, you wouldn’t get anything done! Love your card!

    1. We should start calling our ‘messes’ ‘creative inspiration’, instead! ha ha! 🙂 Just think – now you get to set up a new, pristine craft room in your new home – I’m so jealous!

        1. I’m glad that you like this crafting card, Buffy 🙂 I know that you like to craft as much as possible!

    1. Mari, my ‘craft room’ is our dining room! Yeah – we don’t entertain much…my bad! LOL

      1. Man, we were meant to be friends. MY “craft room” is OUR dining room. Haha Haha Yeah, we don’t have people over either. Haha All of my stuff is in plastic containers. Some of it is in my closet in my bedroom. I sometimes find stuff that I forgot that I had. Do you do that? 😊😊😊 We were meant to be friends, Deb. Haha
