Lesia Zgharda Stamps

You know the feeling that you get, when you see truly amazing art? Like – the hair on the back of your neck stands up, and you get goosebumps? Well, that’s what happened to me several months ago, when I discovered Lesia Zgharda Stamps! Located in Ukraine, it took about a month for me to receive my order here in Canada – but they are worth the wait. You really must check out there website, and see the incredible artwork, both in the stamps they create, as well as the finished projects. My youngest son actually reads & speaks Russian and some Ukrainian, so even though you can click the ‘translate’ button on their site, he was able to translate for me!

The most difficult part of ordering stamps, I find, is limiting what I buy! I love the amount of details in the Lesia Zgharda Stamps, and the uniqueness of the subjects. This is a photo of my order when it arrived – I was so happy!

I absolutely had to have the adorable ‘Sleeping Fox’ , plus the ‘Fox Cave’. The ‘Home Sweet Home’ sentiment seemed perfect to go with the Fox Cave, and I liked the look of the Water Lily.  If you love all kinds of animal images (from foxes and squirrels to manatees and whales) plus all kinds of flowers & nature – this will be your new heaven!

I decided to play with the Fox Cave stamp set, using most of the stamps. I like how you can leave out the little fox, and put the door onto the cave, and include the little stove-pipe chimney!  Hobbits, anyone?

Using these stamps has convinced me that I need to invest in some good colouring pencils! I have watercolour pencils, but I just wasn’t happy enough with how they were working for me (user error, I’m sure!). So, I used my Stampin’ Up! Blends alcohol markers for this card.

First, stamp the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto white cardstock. Colour in the images with your choice of colours. I used Light & Dark Calypso Coral plus Dark Cherry Cobbler for the fox, leaving his tail, cheeks and around his eyes white. The stones are in Light & Dark Smoky Slate, and the dirt Light & Dark Crumb Cake. I added touches of light Highland Heather and Pool Party to the snow, and greens to the emerging grass.

The sentiment is stamped above the fox cave in Memento Tuxedo Black ink; it’s a separate sentiment stamp. If you have friends in different parts of the world, Lesia Zgharda Stamps offers many of their stamps in English, Russian, Ukrainian, German, Polish, French, Greek and Spanish! Isn’t that amazing?!

The panel is attached to a panel of SU! Pumpkin Pie cardstock, and then attached to a card base of Gray Granite.

I highly recommend getting to know the stamps created by Lesia – they are so amazingly wonderful. Even if you can’t order (though free international shipping is offered with a minimum $40 order!), you will fall in  love with the images. You can follow them on their Facebook page and see Lesia’s gorgeous colouring.  Her’s is much, much, better than mine – by miles! She’s on Instagram too, if you’re an IG person.

Here’s another picture of the Fox Cave and Home Sweet Home stamps I used for my project.  If you have a favourite set of colouring pencils, please let me know! I’m on the hunt; so far I’ve narrowed it down to Faber-Castelle Polychromos, and Prismacolor.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. Wow! I love that fox set with the cave. It reminds me of the cottage. It is located on an old limestone site and there are lots of places for the foxes to live and we see them all the time. Cute card!

    1. Oh, you are SO lucky to see foxes – and all the time, at your cottage! We’re just not in the right area for foxes (raccoons, skunks, coyote, deer, bear….but no foxes!) I’m so glad that you like my first try with this new stamp set, Susan.

        1. I just couldn’t resist the adorable fox! I’m glad that you like my first card with this set, Buffy 🙂
