Life Happens, Coffee Helps

Welcome to this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! We had a bit of a hiccup with last week’s challenge, in that it didn’t post for some reason! Yes, all of us on the Design Team posted on our individual blogs, but the computer gremlins didn’t post it on our Crew challenge blog. So – this week you get to participate in BOTH challenges; this sketch, and last week’s Hallowe’en Haunting Inspiration challenge. You can see my post about that challenge HERE.  For this week’s challenge, I’m using one of my favourite sets from Honey Bee stamps, along with a favourite sentiment; Life Happens, Coffee Helps!

Life Happens, Coffee Helps

The stamp set is called Blah Bunny – he’s my spirit animal! Luckily, he likes coffee as much as I do, so we’re all good. The sentiment is also from a Honey Bee stamp set, called Blah, Blah, Blah.

And yes – I am sipping a coffee as I’m typing this post!

On a piece of white cardstock, stamp the bunny, rug and coffee cup in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Stamp the steam and the coffee in Vintage Photo distress ink. Use the coordinating Blah Bunny dies to die cut each image. I used a stencil and Peacock Feathers distress ink to add some colour to the rug. Use a light gray marker to colour the bunny, and a teal marker for the mug. For the nose, ears and toes, use a bright pink.

On a strip of white cardstock, stamp each of the 3 sentiment pieces (they come in separate pieces, so you can ‘mix & match’) in Tuxedo Black, and then cut them apart.

Cut the panels of cardstock and patterned paper, and then layer them together, as in the sketch. Layer the bunny on the rug with foam tape. Use foam tape as well for the coffee cup and sentiment strips.

I hope you’ll join both challenges, but if you only have time for one, choose whichever you like! For more inspiration for both, head over to the Paper Craft Crew blog, and see what the rest of the Design Team have created. You’ll also find the links there, for adding your project.

If you need any supplies, I’ve included some shopping links below.  Have fun creating!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. I love that bunny; I feel the same way today – but coffee isn’t helping much. Yet! There’s still time. I don’t know how we’re saving energy by having Daylight Savings Time last until November; I’m still using lights in the morning. I want my hour back!! But your card made me smile, so that’s a definite plus!!

    1. I know what you mean, Buffy! Some days coffee doesn’t quite do it…but we keep going anyway. 😉

    1. I think they should have a stamp so we can substitute ‘chocolate’ for ‘coffee’, Susan! 😉 Glad you like my Blah Bunny card 🙂

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
