May Your Christmas Be Bright

Hello stamping friend! Sorry for the late post – I was busy addressing and mailing out the new Holiday Catalogue yesterday, and ran out of time to schedule this post! By the way; if you don’t already work with a demonstrator, and you’d like a catalogue – email me your snail mail address! As long as you’re in Canada, I can send you one 🙂  Today I’m wishing may your Christmas be bright – which is one of the sentiments in the new Making Christmas Bright stamp set.

For this card, I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) a card that you’ll see on page 6 of the catalogue. It’s so cute, I couldn’t help myself. I just made a couple of small changes, but the layout is the same.

May Your Christmas Be Bright

Isn’t this fun?! While I didn’t use it on this card, there is also a Christmas Bulb Builder Punch available. You can Bundle to punch and stamp set, and save yourself 10%! I shared a card a couple days ago that did use this set and the punch – you can SEE IT HERE.

Start with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Whisper White cardstock. With the Making Christmas Bright stamp set, stamp the strings of light in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Use the Stampin’ Write Markers in Real Red, Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch to colour in the bulbs. Add a little highlight to some of the bulbs, with the White Stampin’ Chalk Marker.

Next, create 2 banners, one larger in Real Red cardstock, and a slightly smaller one in Call Me Clover cardstock. Create the banner tails with the Banner Triple Punch.  Use the strings of stars stamp in the Making Christmas Bright stamp set, and stamp repeatedly on the diagonal, in Call Me Clover ink, on the Call Me Clover banner. Layer the green banner on top of the red one, with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then, attach the banners to the middle of the white panel, with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a separate piece of Whisper White, stamp the starry circle image in Versamark ink. Cover it with Copper Embossing Powder, and set with the Heat Tool. Now, stamp the top half of the sentiment in Call Me Clover ink, then the ‘Bright’ in Real Red ink. Use the Big Shot with the Layering Circles Framelits to die cut the sentiment. Attach it over the middle of the banners, with more Dimensionals. Now add the front panel to your card base of Call Me Clover cardstock.

For a final touch, add one of the stars from the Snowflakes & Stars Wire Elements to the right of the sentiment. A couple of Mini Glue Dots will hold it in place! I love these new wire embellishments – they’re copper, so they work perfect with a lot of the new designer papers and ribbon in the new catalogue.

May Your Christmas Be Bright

I think this stamp set will be another favourite of a lot of people this holiday season!

May Your Christmas Be Bright

As always, I add a panel of Whisper White cardstock to the inside of my card. This allows me to easily add a stamped sentiment, and a written  message. Otherwise it would be difficult to see on the Call Me Clover cardstock.

May Your Christmas Be Bright

I used the sentiment from the Hearts Come Home stamp set, found in the Annual catalogue (page 101). There’s a lot of great holiday sets that carried over from last year, plus some new ones, in there!  The sentiment is stamped in Call Me Clover ink. Then I added the same strings of stars that were stamped on the diagonal on the front banner, this time in Real Red ink. I do like to bring continuity to a card by adding an element to the inside, that is also on the outside of the card.

You’ll be able to order from the Holiday catalogue on Wednesday, September 5th! But you can get prepared for it now, by stocking up on the ink and cardstock colours you’ll need, as well as any adhesives. By doing this before August 31st, you will also earn a Bonus Code Coupon of $6 for every $60 spent (before shipping/tax) – redeemable in September! So get shopping, and may your Christmas be bright!

HINT: Featured colours in the new Christmas designer papers include Call Me Clover, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Shaded Spruce, Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, Merry Merlot, and Tranquil Tide. If you like the fall/harvest themes, make sure you have Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron and Gray Granite. Hallowe’en is a fun combination of Basic Black (of course), Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, and Pumpkin Pie, with some others as accents.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
