Hello my Stampin' Friends!

Gosh – where has the time gone?  We've had a hectic time around here; busy with getting my eldest son ready for College, and my youngest for grade 10; preparing for new windows in the house, getting ready for new classes, and finding time to play with all my new goodies from the Holiday Catalogue – *phew!*   Busy, but fun!

I hope you've been having a good summer,  yourself.  Did you take any exciting trips, or have family visit?

My sister and brother-in-law were here last weekend for a visit, and it was my brother's birthday, so we had a wonderful visit together 🙂

My brother's birthday also gave me the perfect excuse to make a card using the New Thinlit Card Die – yippee!!

Here's what I made:

How cute is that?!

I just love how easy this was!   I'm going to make a tutorial for this, but just to quickly share with you – I cut the Bermuda Bay card stock 5 7/8" x 5 1/2", and cut the Birthday Basics designer series paper to fit the right hand side at 2 7/8" x 5 1/2".  I adhered it onto the right  side of the card stock, with the exception of the small section that 'flips'; ran it through the Big Shot – and I was almost done!!

I stamped the cupcake and sentiment (from the retired 'Easy Events' set), and the sentiment from 'Yippee Skippee' for the reverse, onto Whisper White card stock, and using the label framelit that comes with the Thinlit Card die set, ran them through the Big Shot – and that part was done!  I used  my Stampin' Write Markers to colour and Bermuda Bay ink, and adhered them to the 'flip' portion.

I wanted to add a little extra 'bling' to the card, so I dressed it up with strips of the Silver Glimmer paper, and some more of the Birthday Basic dsp.

The card was a big hit – my family shares the same sense of humour! 🙂

If you want to make a 'WOW' card that doesn't take a 'wow' lot of time – these Thinlit Card Dies are the way to go!  Next time, I'll share with you how to extend the card, to add an extra fold!

Just in time for Christmas preparations, Stampin' Up! has just release a group of NEW SINGLE STAMPS!!  These are all Holiday themed, and perfect for cards, tags, scrap books – whatever you want to use them for!  They are available NOW til January 2014, so you can start making your Christmas cards any time now.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project; whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :) If you're in Canada, you can Join My Team as a SU! demonstrator. If you're in the Great Vancouver area, you're welcome to join my classes - we always have fun!
