Hello again stamping friend! Welcome to this week’s challenge with the Paper Craft Crew!
This week’s sketch challenge is a lot of fun
I love the combination of white space, a place for designer series paper, and the large focal area. This is what I came up with:
I had recently received my Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper, and was looking for a reason to use it! So, I decided to stay with the floral theme, and also used the Jar of Love stamp set, and Everyday Jars Thinlits.
I started with a card base of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock. I took a panel of Mint Macaron cardstock, and stamped the dots from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Mint Macaron ink randomly across the cardstock. I then added a piece of the Blooms & Bliss DSP down the left side of the Mint Macaron panel, and edged the join with some of the Ruched Ribbon in Sweet Sugarplum. I attached this to my card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the focal piece, I stamped the jar from the Jar of Love stamp set in Pool Party ink (stamped off once) directly onto the die cut Oval of Whisper White cardstock. I then stamped the water image inside the jar, in Soft Sky ink.
The large flowers were stamped using Blushing Bride and Sweet Sugarplum ink (stamped off once). The small flowers were stamped first in Sweet Sugarplum ink (full strength) then Rich Razzleberry ink. The stems were stamped in Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron ink; and the ribbon and bow were stamped in Sweet Sugarplum. The flowers, stems, ribbon and bow were all die cut using the Everyday Jar Thinlits, and attached to the oval using Glue Dots.
I like how adding the flowers, etc., separately allows you to add more dimension to the card; in the picture below you can see it better:
I used the retired Ovals Framelits to die cut the large oval in Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, and layered it behind the jar stamped oval, and attached it to the card from using Dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set; stamped in Sweet Sugarplum ink onto Whisper White. I used my Paper Snips to cut tails on both ends, and attached it with Dimensionals. I added the 2 smaller flowers above the sentiment, then 3 Pearl Basic Jewels to the top left corner, and I was done!
I hope you enjoyed seeing my card; if you have a moment to leave a comment, I always love to read them! You’ll want to head over to the Paper Craft Crew challenge page to see what the rest of the Design Team have created for your inspiration – they’re awesome!
