Paper Craft Crew Colour Challenge PCCCS212

Paper Craft crew header

Woohoo – time for a twist with the Paper Craft Crew!

This week we have a colour challenge for you – have a look:

pcccs212

The challenge says that you’re to use 3 of the 4 colours, plus you can use a neutral – such as Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Gray or Black, if necessary.  Well, I decided that I would use all 4 of the challenge colours!

PCCCS212 Jar of Cheer

I’m sure that if you follow my blog, you know how much I love the Jar of Love Bundle – the stamp set and coordinating framelits.   So you can imagine how thrilled I was to see the Jar of Cheer in the Holiday Catalogue!

This new set coordinates perfectly with the Everyday Jar framelits, and comes with the jar and lid outlines; it also comes with 6 main images that fit inside the jar, as well as other embellishment images, for a total of 13 stamps in the set.  Well worth getting, especially if you already have the Everyday Jar framelits.

I stamped the jar outline in Night of Navy ink, then stamped the ornaments image in Night of Navy.  I then used Blender Pens and ink pads in the challenge colour of Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango and Emerald Envy to colour the ornaments, leaves and berries.  I then stamped the lid image first in Night of Navy ink then Versamark, then stamped onto Whisper  White cardstock.  I immediately covered it in Clear embossing powder, then heat set it with my Heat Tool.  I then used the Everyday Jar framelits to die cut the jar and lid, with the Big Shot.

I used the Thoughtful Banners stamp set for the sentiment and banner outline, stamping in Night of Navy ink, then used the Duet Banner Punch to punch it out.

I used the retired Ovals Framelits to die cut an oval from the new Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This paper is in White, with embossed patterns on the paper.  You can either leave the paper white, or use Sponges, Sponge Daubers or the new Sponge Brayers and inks to bring out the pattern, as I did; I used a Sponge Dauber and Crushed Curry ink pad to colour the pattern.  I then cut 4 points from Tangerine Tango cardstock, and layered them under the oval.  I then attached the oval to the card front, and added the banner at the bottom , using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

After doing that, I decided that the card needed ‘a little something more’, so I stamped the wreath and bow from the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set, and die cut them using the coordinating Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits Dies.  I attached them together, and to the top of the jar lid using Glue Dots.

I hope you’ll check out the cards made by the rest of the Design Team; just head over to the Paper Craft Crew blog page.  Be sure to add your own card for the challenge – I’ll be looking for it!  I may not be able to comment, as at the time this challenge posts, I’ll be in London, England!

Happy stamping!
