Welcome to PCCCS198 – the Paper Craft Crew challenge for this week.
WOW – can you believe that we are almost at our 200th challenge?! That’s quite an accomplishment – all thanks to you, who keep participating and enjoying the challenges, which of course keeps us going! You’ll want to keep following along, as there *just may be* something special coming up for the 200th challenge – but you’ll have to come back, and see!
Let’s start with this week’s challenge, first.
This is a colour challenge; the idea is to use the colours shown, plus any neutral as a ‘freebie’, but this week we’ve thrown in a twist – you get to choose one of the colours! It could be one of the new In Colours, it could be a current colour that’s your favourite – or maybe you have a retired colour you’ve been dying to pull off your shelf! I can’t wait to see what you choose to do!
Here is my card:
I decided to introduce the new Flirty Flamingo colour – which as you can see, blends very well with the Calypso Coral! Perhaps it’s because my ink pads are so new and very inky, that it stamped a bit dark. Anyway – I started with a card base of Mint Macaron, then added a panel of Flirty Flamingo cardstock. On a panel of Whisper White, using the Garden in Bloom set, I stamped the outlines of the flowers and leaves in Memento Black ink, using the masking technique to layer them.
I then went back, still using the masking technique, and stamped the largest flowers in Flirty Flamingo, the small flowers in Calypso Coral and the leaves in Mint Macaron. The middle of the flowers are stamped in So Saffron ink.
I used the Painter’s Palette stamp set to stamp the brush strokes in So Saffron onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, then the sentiment was stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink over top. I used the Tags & Labels Thinlits to die cut the sentiment and the Flirty Flamingo cardstock layer underneath it. I attached some loops of the Gold Metallic Thread under the sentiment layers, then added it to the card panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Even with the masking, this card came together quite quickly – it would have been even quicker if I hadn’t made a mistake on the first one, and had to start all over again! 😉 Oh well – I’m sure you know how that goes!
I do hope you’ll check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects on the Paper Craft Crew page, then grab your inks & create your own card to link up.
Until next time – happy stamping!
