PAPER CRAFT CREW SKETCH CHALLENGE PCC326

It’s Wednesday – you know what that means! It’s time for another Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge – PCC326 for this week! Time to get out the inks, stamps and paper, and get creative.

SKETCH PCC326

Here’s the sketch to use as your ‘jumping off’ point. Remember that you can change the focal area shapes; maybe you want to use circles, instead of squares. No problem! You also get to choose your colour palette, and if you want, you can also change the orientation of the sketch. Flip it sideways or upside down – you’re the creative one!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

Since it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow, I decided to share this card a day early. I kept almost everything exactly the same as the sketch; it worked to have the squares, for the sentiment size.

CARD FRONT DETAILS

I used a retired SU! stamp set called Sealed with Love for the elements on this card.  Since I was going through my SU! stash (what’s left) I also used Highland Heather ink and cardstock for the light purple. For the pink, I used Picked Raspberry Distress ink.

The sentiment, row of hearts, and the lips are all from the stamp set. I used a small heart die to die cut the heart using my Big Shot.

For the background panel behind the sentiment, I decided to do some ‘block watercolour stamping’. To do that, first apply ink from your ink pads to a clear block. I used the Picked Raspberry Distress ink and Seedless Preserves Distress ink. Lightly spray water onto the ink on the block, and then press it down onto watercolour paper. You can repeat this if you’re not happy with the amount of ink transferred. I was happy with mine, since most of it was going to be covered up! Use stitched square dies to die cut the two panels.

Cut a strip of white cardstock, and stamp the row of hearts across the middle, in the light purple ink.

LAYER IT TOGETHER

Create a card base of white cardstock, and the attach a panel of light purple (Highland Heather) cardstock with foam tape. Next, attach a panel of bright pink, to coordinate with the sentiment colour. Glue the strip with the stamped hearts across the middle, and then layer to two focal panels on top. Finally, attach the die cut heart, and stamped, hand cut lips, to the bottom left corner of the focal panels.

JOIN THE CHALLENGE!

I can’t wait to see what you create for this week’s challenge. It doesn’t have to be Valentine themed; that was just my choice. To see what the rest of the Design Team created, head over to our Paper Craft Crew challenge page. You can also grab the link there, to add your card.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
