Paper Players Colour Challenge

Good Monday, my friend! I was a bit at a loss as to what to share today, until I saw the new Paper Players Colour Challenge! I love the combination they chose, so I decided to play along.

PP450 COLOUR CHALLENGE

Paper Players Colour Challenge

I still have these colours, from when I was a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, so it worked out well.

JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE YOU

I needed something quick & easy, as I was running out of time to get this posted for today. So I did a die cut, some ink blending, and more die cutting!

Paper Players Colour Challenge

Having the whole idea in my head as to how I wanted this card to look helped speed things up, too! So many times I change the design part way through…but this time I only changed my mind once!

CARD DETAILS

Start with a panel of white cardstock. Use a blender brush and blend on Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green to the top 1/3rd of the panel. Next, die cut a butterfly outline from a panel of Balmy Blue cardstock. To create the sentiment, use the My Favorite Things Sweet Hello dies and die cut the script word from Granny Apple Green cardstock, and the word outline from Vellum cardstock. Stamp  the rest of the sentiment, from the Well, Hello stamp set, in Blueberry Bushel ink onto a strip of white cardstock. Stamp it again in Versamark ink, cover with clear embossing powder, and heat set.

Now you’re ready to layer all the pieces together. Use the Quickie Glue Pen to attach the die cut hello to the outline, and then underneath the die cut butterfly. Now, attach the sentiment strip underneath that, with foam tape. Attach the front panel over the blended white panel, again with foam tape, for dimension. You can now attach your front panel to a Blueberry Bushel card base, with more foam tape or squares.

To finish off the front of the card, I added some Starry Sky Mix Jewel Mix from Pretty Pink Posh, and some Clear Droplets from Studio Katia.

Popping up the layers adds more dimension to the card. I also like how the layered ‘hello’ adds a bit more to the card, as well. If you really want to step up this design, you can make it a shaker card!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :)
