Hello my stamping friends!

I’m here today to share a card with you for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #144 – but with a twist!   This time, I’m sharing my card as a DESIGN TEAM MEMBER!!   That’s right – I am beyond thrilled to say that I’ve been invited to be part of the Design Team at the Paper Craft Crew – this is such an honour!

As you know, I’ve long been a fan of the talented designers there, so when I Pam Staples, the founder & coordinator of the Paper Craft Crew invited me to join the team – I jumped at the chance 🙂

So, you will still be seeing weekly challenge cards from me for the Paper Craft Crew – but as a member of the Design Team, rather than a ‘contestant’.

This week’s challenge sketch is another wonderful one (I don’t know how Pam comes up with all of these!) – here’s the sketch:

Here is my interpretation of the sketch:

I used the Choose Happiness stamp set (I’m so glad this set is carrying over – spoiler alert!) I started with a card base of Smoky Slate cardstock, then added a panel of Blackberry Bliss, which I stamped with the small splatter image from Gorgeous Grunge.

I stamped the flower images using Versamark and Blackberry Bliss inks, then heat embossed them using Clear embossing powder and the heat tool.  I then coloured them in with Blackberry Bliss ink and a Blender Pen; I used the Hello Honey marker to colour the center of the flowers.

I hand cut them using my Paper Snips, but I still wanted to add some more dimension to them.  On the front flower, I used a technique I saw on Splitcoaststampers, on adding dimension without adding layers; I used my craft knife to partially cut some of the petals, and using the stylus from my Simply Scored Board, I placed the flower upside down on my Stampin’ Pierce Mat, and rubbed the back of the cut petals, so that they would appear ‘lifted’ from the front view.

This picture shows a close up of the flower, with the partially cut & embossed petals:

I then stamped the bird silhouette in Smoky Slate ink & cut it out, then stamped the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, and cut banner tails in the end. I placed a piece of the Birch bark image paper from the Adventure Bound DSP stack, then layered a strip of Smoky Slate cardstock stamped with the border image from the Choose Happiness set.  Under that, I layered the stamped banner, plus 2 more; 1 each of Smoky Slate and Blackberry Bliss cardstock.   I layered the flowers & bird over a Soft Sky circle made using the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch.

Three Candy Dots over the stamped border complete the card.  I think this card could be used for a lot of different occasions; birthday, sympathy, just because…

Thank you for visiting and having a look at my card, today!  I really appreciate your visits, and your support of my challenge cards with the Paper Craft Crew.  I hope that you will continue to check out the Paper Craft Crew blog page – there is always amazing inspiration, from both the design team and the talented challenge participants!

Until next time – happy stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
