Welcome to our newest sketch challenge from the Paper Craft Crew!

Paper Craft Crew DT Badge

Wow – can you believe it’s November already?!  Where has the year gone?

Well, in case you’re getting your Christmas cards ready, or just thinking about it, I’m sure you’ll find some inspiration in the cards made by the Design Team!

Here is the sketch we’re working from this week:

PCCCS169

Here is the card I designed:

DSC07224

In my last order, I received my To You and Yours Too stamp set, so I was dying to try it out!  I just love this silhouette of the deer amongst the trees.

For the image panel, I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 2″ x 3 3/4″, and sponged it with Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder inks using Sponge Daubers.  I then inked up the image stamp in Memento Black ink, and stamped it at the bottom of the panel.  I then used the stars stamp, inked with Versamark ink, covered them with Heat & Stick Powder, used the Heat Tool to heat them, the covered them with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  One last hit with the Heat Tool, and the glitter will stay put!  (that doesn’t mean it didn’t get all over me & the surrounding area first!)

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the stamped panel to a piece of 2 1/4″ x 4″ Real Red cardstock, and glued a piece of a Silver Metallic Foil Doily to the left side.

The card base is Real Red cardstock, layered with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic Black cardstock that I ran through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  Over that, I glued a piece of the gorgeous Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper, with a 1/4″ strip of Silver Foil Sheet across the top.  I then attached the stamped image panel, and added a bow made from the Silver Foil Sheet and the Bow Builder Punch (leaving off the tails) on the top right.

Finally, I added a wooden Snowflake Element that I had first coloured by pressing it into a (retired) Silver ink pad, and added Dazzling Details. The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set, stamped in Memento Black ink and die cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my card for this challenge as much as I enjoyed making it!  I  hope you’ll  head over to the Paper Craft Crew page, and check out the amazing cards that the rest of the Design Team have created for your inspiration.  There’s lots to see!

Remember to create your own card, using this week’s sketch, and enter in the challenge.  You may be one of the newest Top Picks by the Design Team!

Until next time – happy stamping!
