Hello, my friend!  I hope you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge; if you missed it, you can see it in this post, or by going to the Paper Craft Crew page (which  you should do anyway, so that you can see the fabulous cards made by the rest of the Design Team!)

Anyway, I enjoyed this week’s challenge so much, and the card that I made, that I created a second version!  Seriously – do I love myself, or what?! LOL 🙂  Actually, it’s the layout and the sponging technique that I loved so much – I wanted to try another colour.

So  here it is – sketch challenge 169 version 2!

wonderland pcccs169 v.2

You can see that I used the same sketch layout, the same cardstock colours and Designer Series Paper, but this time my image is from the new Wonderland stamp set.  I finally broke down and bought it, because I was seeing so many gorgeous projects made using it; and though it may seem similar to the Lovely as a Tree set, it’s actually quite different because of the closeness and type of trees – plus the height of the trees.

For the background I sponged Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise onto the Whisper White cardstock, then stamped the trees in Archival Black ink, and the snowflakes in White Craft ink.  I then used my uniball Signo White Gel Pen to add the snow to the tree branches.

Another difference is that I used the 5/8″ White Organza Ribbon across the top, and added a retired snowflake embellishment (left over from a couple of years ago).

When I posted the other card – version 1 of this card – to the Paper Craft Crew challenge, it really was a toss-up between the two cards.  I went with the 1st version, because with the bow it more closely resembled the sketch.

Do you have a favourite?  The blue with the trees (this one) or the purples and the silhouettes?  Let me know – leave me a comment – I’d love to get hear your preference!

Until next time – happy stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
