Hi there stamping friends!  Wow – it’s Thursday already!  It’s been a fun & busy week; I’ve had some time to play with some of my new products – more of that coming later in another post!

Today I’m here to share a card I made for The Paper Players – this week is a theme challenge – all about masculine cards!

The design team at The Paper Players have  some great inspiration to share – you should head on over & have a look!  This is the picture that was posted for the challenge:

PP248

Of course, just because tools were used in the ‘inspiration’ picture, doesn’t mean that you have to use tools as a theme on your card.  This is what I came up with:

PP248 guy greetings

I tell you, I  have gotten more than my money’s worth out of this Guy Greetings stamp set!  I just love it!  Don’t worry – I’ll be using it long past Father’s Day, for lots of other cards.

Can you spot something NEW that I used on this card?  That’s right – it’s the new Brick Wall embossing folder!  Woot!!  I am so happy that SU! brought this folder out; and to make it even better, it’s in a new size – 6″ x 6″!

I started with a card base of Pacific Point ink, then layered it with a panel of Basic Grey cardstock that I had embossed with the new Brick Wall embossing folder.  On the panel of Whisper White cardstock, I masked off 1/2 of the sheet on the diagonal by using Post-it Notes, and stamped the hats on the left in Smoky Slate, and the shoes on the right, in Pacific Point.  I then decided to use a strip of the embossed Basic Grey to separate the two sides.  To ‘grunge’ up the brick a bit, I used a Sponge Dauber and some Smoky Slate ink, and added some smudges around the edges of the bricks.

The sentiments were stamped in Pacific Point ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and the ends punched with the new Banner Triple Punch.  That’s another of the new products that I’m using a lot!  No more guessing & hoping that my banner tails will be even! 😉

Since I didn’t specifically use a Father’s Day greeting, I think that this card could be used for a birthday, or congratulations occasion.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my card – I love to read your comments, and always try to reply, if you have time to leave one!  Make sure to head over to The Paper Players page, check out what their design team created, and maybe join in the challenge yourself!  The more, the merrier 🙂

Until next time – happy stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project; whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :) If you're in Canada, you can Join My Team as a SU! demonstrator. If you're in the Great Vancouver area, you're welcome to join my classes - we always have fun!
