Private Card Class Fun!

Hello stamping friend! I’m back from a very busy last 5 days – but it was fun! I made a new friend at my recent Sale-A-Bration Celebration earlier this month, and she asked if I would come to her house, to give a private class for her and her friends.  Of course I said yes! Private card classes are so much fun! Everyone already knows each other, so the ‘flow’ is a smooth. This group meets every 4-6 weeks, and they were looking for something new to learn. Well, hello 🙂  Here I am, with lots of new stamps, products & techniques!

PRIVATE CARD CLASS

Karen’s group were such fun! They set up their get togethers as stamp first, then they dive into a potluck luncheon. They were so sweet and had me stay for lunch – and these ladies skimp on the food 🙂 It was delicious. And no – I didn’t get any pictures of people stamping or eating (I was too busy), but I do have pictures to share of the projects they made.

BRUSHO EMBOSS RESIST TECHNIQUE

Karen had watched my demonstration with the Brusho Crystal Colours at my party, and wanted her group to see it to.  Well, why just watch, when you can do it yourself?! Since Karen has specifically asked me to again use the Beautiful Blooms flower, I brought that, and everyone had fun. I’ve already posted about doing this technique, so I won’t repeat it again now. If you missed it, CLICK HERE and another window will open, so you can read how and see those projects.

For my demonstration card, this time I used the Gamboge (orange) and Yellow Brusho Crystal Colours. I let everyone choose their own colours to use -because that’s more fun!

I’m always thrilled with how this product works!

WATERFRONT VIEW

The other stamp set that Karen thought her group would like is another of my favourites, the Waterfront stamp set. It was funny when the ladies saw the sample card; their reaction was “there’s no way we’re going to be able to create this!” Just wait, I said….

What do you think? If you’d never used this set before, would you be intimidated?

DETAILS

I’ll admit – some of the ladies, while they were stamping, were thinking that their project looked like a hot mess. But when they were done – they were thrilled! “Seeing how it all came together was great!”, one person said.

First, take the 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and die cut a ‘window’ using the Big Shot and Layering Squares Framelits.

Since there were 8 ladies, my plan was to have them stamp consecutively, in a progressive order. Well, you know what they say about plans! They group got started while I was finishing helping the last person with the first project – so they were stamping ‘out of order’ – at least, the order I had in my head!

Personally, I stamp in this order; first mountains (2 steps), then grass, water (3 steps), trees and sun. So you can see why, if you’re stamping out of order, you may think you’re just making a mess!

The colours used are: mountains – Soft Suede (once full strength, then again without reinking); grass – Old Olive; water – Marina Mist, then Dapper Denim; trees – Garden Green; sun – So Saffron.

After stamping the scene onto Whisper White cardstock, attach the stamped panel to the back of the opening on the Wood Textures DSP, with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Next, wind a length of Solid Baker’s Twine in Whisper White twice around the panels, tying off in a bow in the front. Finally, attach the front panel to a card base of Dapper Denim cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but you know I always stamp there! Most of the ladies decided that this card would be perfect for one of the men in their lives; especially those that like the outdoors.

BOOK YOUR PRIVATE CARD CLASS!

As I  said at the beginning; private classes are a lot of fun, and a great way to get together with your friends. Everyone is getting tired of the ‘same old’ stuff – going for dinner, or a movie, or coffee, – and are looking for an experience where they can learn something, have fun, and be social at the same time. So if you’d like to do something new with your friends – at any level of experience, from new beginner to experienced – get in touch with me! We can arrange to have it at my place or yours; the number of projects you want to do, and any theme you have in mind.

ORDER YOUR SUPPLIES

If you’d like to get going on your own projects, order your supplies by clicking on the product images below. You can also click on my signature to go to the ‘first page’ of my online store, which is open 24/7.  Thank you for shopping with me! It keeps my business going, which allows me to share these projects with you 🙂 I’d love it if you’d like to leave a comment on this post – let me know what you think of these projects!
