ROOTED IN NATURE FOR TIC-TAC-TOE CHALLENGE

This week, the Paper Craft Crew has a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for you! These are such fun; you choose your stamp sets, colours, and layout.

Rooted in Nature for Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Choose 1 line from the challenge; it can be horizontal, diagonal or vertical. Incorporate each of the items in that line in your project.  How you incorporate them is up to you. Get creative! I chose the top horizontal line; Bundled Product, Designer Series Paper, Natural Accent.

ROOTED IN NATURE

My bundled products are the Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies. I used a lot of other products in this Suite, as well. I used the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper, and the ‘natural element’ are the die cut leaves, the Leaves Trinkets, and the Linen Thread.

DETAILS

Start with a card base of Petal Pink cardstock. Stamp the leaf trio image several times in Petal Pink ink in the upper left and lower right corners of the front. Cut a square of the Nature’s Poem DSP, and a 1/4″ larger square of Whisper White cardstock. Layer the 2 squares together with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and attach to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stamp the sentiment from the Rooted in Nature stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White, with Petal Pink ink. Use the Big Shot with the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut the sentiment. Cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock to 1/4″ larger than the sentiment square. Attach the 2 together with Dimensionals, then attach to the centre of the DSP panel with liquid glue.

On a piece of Vellum cardstock, stamp the 3 petal leaf image twice in Soft Suede ink. Stamp the single large leaf image in twice in Tranquil Tide, once in Soft Suede and once in Petal Pink – or any combination that you prefer. Die cut all of the leaves with the Big Shot and Nature’s Roots Framelits.

Use liquid glue to attach and stack the leaves in the upper left and lower right corners of the DSP square. Attach a strip of Tear & Tape to the back of the Leaves Trinkets. Remove the backing, and attach the trinkets on top of the leaves; tucking in a double bow made with Linen Thread in the upper corner.

I chose to use the Leaves Trinkets in Copper, to coordinate with the colours in the DSP.

INSIDE STAMPING

I wasn’t sure which sentiment I wanted on the inside, so I opted to not add one yet. I did of course add some of the leaf images from the Rooted in Nature stamp set, in Petal Pink ink.

With all of the layers and embellishments on this card, I think it would be best hand delivered! Either that, or make sure you place either a layer of cardstock or bubble wrap over the front panel, to ensure that the Leaves Trinkets don’t poke through the envelope, or jam the sorting machine!

PLEASE JOIN THE CHALLENGE!

There’s so many great options on this Tic-Tac-Toe board, I hope you’ll join us! I can’t wait to see what you’ll design. I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to stamp and create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project; whether a 3D item, or a card, or scrapbook page - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you stamp and create with me! :) If you're in Canada, you can Join My Team as a SU! demonstrator. If you're in the Great Vancouver area, you're welcome to join my classes - we always have fun!

    1. Thank you, Buffy! It was one of your cards that inspired me – I think yours had flowers at corners of a square. You really should join the challenge this week!

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
