Scrap 'N Stamp Galentine's Blog Hop

Welcome to our Scrap ‘N Stamp Galentine’s Blog Hop! We’re celebrating our gal pals this month. Why limit ourselves to Valentine’s Day, when we can show our friends how much we appreciate them with Galentine’s! In this Hop, you’ll see amazing creative projects from us, the Scrap ‘N Stamp Design Team. As you go through the Hop, be sure to leave a comment on each post. There will be one lucky person, randomly drawn, for a prize of a $50 Gift Card to Scrap ‘N Stamp!

To make your way through our Galentine’s Blog Hop, simply click the link to the next blog post, at the end of each post. In case of technical gremlins, a complete list of participants is also at the end of each post. If you started at the beginning of the Hop at Tara’s post, then you’re now at the end of the Hop. If you didn’t start with Tara, then keep clicking, my friend! You don’t want to miss out!

I am so excited to debut the new Concord & 9th set called Special Delivery! There are also coordinating dies to the stamp set – which of course you know I HAD to have! Coordinating stamps & dies are simply the best thing since sliced bread – end of discussion! And because I was having so much fun creating – I have 2 cards for you!

How much fun is this?! And – there’s a play on words – my fave!

There’s lots of details to taco ’bout on this card! First, on a separate piece of white cardstock, stamp the truck image in Memento ink. Now, stamp the two of the taco images in Gina K. Sweet Corn ink.  Colour the truck image in Copic B04 Tahitian Blue marker, and add detailing with B00 Frost Blue and a light gray. To colour the taco shells, smudge a bit of Gina K. Sweet Corn, and Honey Mustard onto a craft mat, or other slick surface. Pick up the colour with a blending marker, and colour in the taco shell. Use Copic G09 Veronese Green and YG07 Acid Green markers for the lettuce, and R29 Lipstick Red marker for the tomato.  After colouring, use the coordinating dies to die cut the truck and tacos.

To create the background, layer the Taylored Expressions Masking Rectangle Stencil (large) over a white cardstock panel. Hold it in place with Purple Tape. Next, use a blending brush to apply Broken China Distress Oxide ink through the opening. I just LOVE these stencils & masks sets! They’re also available in other shapes, too.  Now, place your truck where you want it, and then stamp the hearts image in red ink, to look like the exhaust coming from the truck. Next, attach  your truck image with foam tape, and attach the tacos onto the body of the truck. Stamp the sentiment onto a white banner in red ink, and attach it under the truck.  Finally, attach some Nuvo Pure Sheen Gemstones – Cherry Hearts – among the stamped hearts, and layer your image panel.

There are so many images & sentiments in this stamp set, that make it so versatile! It can be used for birthday, new baby or congratulations, as well as Galentine’s or Valentine’s celebrations.  This time, I’ve used the ice cream image and a different sentiment.

This time, ink up the ice cream image with Gina K. Blue Lagoon and Honey Mustard inks, and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Stamp the truck image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Use the smudged Sweet Corn ink with the colourless blender pen to colour in the cone part. Use the Copic B00 Frost Blue to add a bit more colouring to the ice cream. Colour in the truck details with the Copic Red Lipstick marker, and stamp the large sentiment onto the body of the truck in red.

Use the coordinating dies for the truck and ice cream cone. Use a large heart die to die cut the background heart from red cardstock. Stamp the smaller sentiment in red, onto a strip of white cardstock.

On a white background panel, stamp the hearts images from the Special Delivery stamp set in red ink, around where the die cut heart will be attached. Now, glue the heart onto the panel. Attach the truck, ice cream cone and sentiment strip, all with foam tape.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. Great cards! I like the hearts falling out of the taco truck but the ice cream truck is my fav.

  2. That taco card speaks to me Deborah, I mean, come on, TACOS!!! The most perfect food ever invented! So many ways to eat them – okay enough about tacos – Super cute card!
