Okay, now that the ‘housekeeping’ is out of the way – let’s check out my project.
FROM OUR HOUSE TO YOURS
I’ve combined several of my new favourite products on this card! Along with the ‘white’ in White Christmas, I’ve added traditional red and green.
And of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without some sparkle and shine!
BACKGROUND DETAILS
I’m in love with this new Taylored Expressions Modern Holly Layering Stencil! You get 3 full sized (6″ x 6″) stencils that layer together to create the leaves, leaf details and berries. Start with your panel of white cardstock, and hold the leaves stencil in place with some Purple Tape. Apply a light green ink with a blending tool; I chose Shabby Shutters Distress ink. Remove this stencil, and then lay the leaf detail stencil on top. The stencils are easy to layer, as they have little ‘registration squares’ at the top & bottom for you to line up! Blend on the Mowed Lawn distress ink, and then remove. Finally, layer the berry stencil, and apply Festive Berries distress ink. Keep the stencil in place, and apply Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone over the berries. This gives a fun & festive sparkle to the berries! Note-be sure to clean the glimmer paste off the stencil & palette knife right away, for best cleaning results. Here’s a close up picture, below, so you can see the sparkle!
SENTIMENT DETAILS
Don’t you just love this sentiment?! My house may not be quite as chaotic as when my boys were little, but it still qualifies *wink*. Stamp this sentiment from the Penny Black Thrill of Hope stamp set in red ink onto a piece of white cardstock. Next, use the MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle die to die cut it. Cut a rectangle of red cardstock to layer underneath. The last thing to do is die cut a piece of red foil with the Hero Arts Snowflake Cluster die. Snip the die cut in half, so that you have a piece for 2 corners.
PUT IT ALL TOGETHER
Create a card base of red, and add a panel of dark green cardstock, and round the top right and bottom left corners. Trim down your stencil panel, and round off the same corners. Attach it with foam tape. Now, layer the sentiment and red rectangles with foam tape, attaching the die cut and halved snowflakes in the top left and bottom right corners. Finally, finish off the card front with some red enamel dots. Or if you’re like me and don’t have red ones, colour some white ones with a red alcohol marker!
