Hello stamping friend! Well, we’re in the midst of a wet week, here on what I affectionately call the ‘wet’ coast! It’s the price we pay for having such lush green surroundings most of the year. The forecasters have been talking about an ‘El Nino’ winter, which means drier than normal, and not much snow. That’s a tough one; I love seeing the snow, playing in it, so I will miss that. I will be glad for brighter skies, though! Anyway, today I thought I’d share something I don’t normally do; scrapbooking Christmas!
These are pages that I created last year, but since the stamp set and dies are still available, I thought they were worth pulling out to share. (If you’re a newsletter subscriber, you may remember them from one of last year’s newsletters).
READY FOR CHRISTMAS
This is a traditional 12″ x 12″ page, with lots of die cut embellishments on it.
Start with a 12″ x 12″ Whisper White cardstock base. Add the Real Red cardstock panels; these are where you’ll add your favourite holiday photos. Last year, I used the Christmas Around the World DSP to die cut the presents; this year, you can use the Santa’s Workshop Specialty DSP!
The sentiments are stamped in Real Red ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and die cut with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. The Real Red cardstock layer behind them are die cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits. The Christmas Staircase Thinlits are used to die cut the tree, tree branches, staircase, table, dog and cookie plate/note for Santa, as well as the star and tree ornaments.
The wreaths at the top were created with now-retired sets; this year, you can use the At Home With You stamp set and coordinating At Home Framelits for the wreaths. There is a bow stamp & die in the Ready for Christmas stamp set and framelits you can use, to swap out the bows I put on the staircase garland. Or, you can add real ribbon bows!
By the way – on the panel with the staircase, the staircase is only attached on the left side, so you can slide your picture underneath it! Sometimes, I do think of everything *wink*.
Here’s some close-ups of the details on each panel.
