Welcome to our Scrap ‘N Stamp April Blog Hop! This month we’re Sending Paper Hugs – since we are all taking part in physical distancing! It’s also spring (finally) so each of us in the Design Team have incorporated flowers into our projects.
If you haven’t done a blog hop before, it’s really easy! First, read the post, and then leave a comment. You’ll want to comment, not just because of the fabulous project (wink) but because one person will be randomly chosen from all comments to WIN a $50 Gift Certificate to Scrap ‘N Stamp! Next, after you’ve commented, click on the name link to the next Design Team member on the hop. We’re all linked together like a chain, so when you keep clicking at the end of each post, you’ll go around through all of our posts.
A PAPER HUG FOR YOU
As well as flowers, you’ll notice that we’ve all used the Picket Fence Studios stamp, called A Paper Hug. You don’t have to be in the middle of a viral pandemic to use this sentiment! It can be used any time, to any person. I’ve included it with the Concord & 9th Uplifting Thoughts flower image.
This card comes together quite easily – easily enough that you could make several to send out to your friends & family! Start with a panel of white cardstock. Ink up the large flower image from the Uplifting Thoughts stamp set in Hero Arts Ultra Pink ink. Stamp diagonally across the panel, from bottom left to top right. Next, on a scrap piece of white cardstock, stamp 3 more of the flowers after re inking the stamp. Now, ink up the single leaf image from this same set in Hero Arts Moss ink. Stamp leaves around your flowers, and then 2 more leaves on your scrap paper, with the flowers. Cut out the separate flowers and leaves with scissors.
Use a large scalloped circle die and die cut the middle from the stamped panel. To ensure you get your sentiment stamped in the right place, set up the dark pink cardstock panel in your stamp platform. Place the white stamped piece on top. Now, place the PFS Paper Hugs sentiment stamp on top, where you want to stamp. Close the lid of the stamp platform to pick up the stamp, and then remove the white stamped piece. Now, cover the sentiment stamp with Versamark ink, and stamp onto the pink cardstock. Re ink and stamp again, to ensure a complete, crisp image. Next, cover the sentiment in Liquid Platinum embossing powder by Ranger Letter It. Set with a heat tool.
Now, layer the two panels together with foam tape. Attach the hand cut flowers & leaves with foam squares. Finish off your card by adding a few metallic rhinestones or sequins.
The card base is a dark green, to coordinate with the leaves.
